How to make your own custom designer paper
Tutorial by: Jacquie Heffner, AfterHoursStamper.comI don't know about you, but sometimes I am at a loss to find designer paper to match acard I am making. The other day I stamped an image for a card and colored the background of the image, but could not really find a good background paper to match theimage, so I made the background (designer paper) myself, and this is the result:Here is the tutorial for you:

Supplies:
Ink pads
: you can choose touse three shades of the samecolor, or try using threedifferent colors.
Background stampShimmerz Spritz
or any glitter type spray
White card stock

Step One:

Pick a background stamp that has a random image, theone I used has a random splash image. You could use a dotted stamp, a floral stamp, try and playaround with the various stamps you have.HINT: I used my Cuttlebug C plate as the acrylic holder for my stamp. The stamp has Tack it over which allowsme to adhere the stamp and then remove it over and over.I make a mark on the back of the stamp so I can make sureto use different parts of thestamp when I am creating the background, in other words Idon't want to overlap the same parts of the stamp on the paper with the same color.Pick your ink colors, I usedthe same colors for the background as the image Istamped in the card. When you pick your colorstry to make them variousintensities, I used a light blue,a medium and then a darker  blue. You can also do this techniquewith three different colors, red, yellow, and orange for example.

Step Two

Ink up your image and startstamping on the paper. Makesure to start with your lightestcolor.Randomly stamp the image, and as shown in the picturemake sure to stamp off theedges of the cardstock. The picture to the right showsyou what your first stampedimage will look like, note thatthe image is off the edges of the cardstock.HINT: Use a full sheet of cardstock so that you willhave some custom DP leftover for other projects.Stamp your image again, inthe picture I am working fromthe outside of the card stock to the inside, I overlapped theimage a bit, and stamped over the edge of the cardstock onceagain.Do not worry about the hardedges of the stamped image;they will "disappear" as youadd more layers.
