PNG.

PNG; for Portable Network Graphics is a file format for image compression that, will soon to replace the Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) which is widely used on today's Internet. Png is a raster which means the rectangular area of a display screen actually being used to display images. The raster is slightly smaller than the physical dimensions of the display screen, Png supports high level lossless compression and transparency but the bad is thing that Png doesnt support multi images.

BMP.
BMP; windows bitmap is a raster Used as a standard bitmap storage format in the Microsoft Windows environment. Although it is based on Windows internal bitmap data structures, it is supported by many non-Windows and non-PC applications. BMP is compatible with existing windows programs but the down side is that it only supports very large files only used by windows computer.

JPG.
JPG; joint photographic experts groups is both a raster and a vector what is a JPG file? The .jpg file extension is assigned to image files. Many photographs and Internet graphics are stored in the JPG file format. JPG files are commonly referred to as JPEG images. JPEG is the acronym for Joint Photographic Experts Group. CGM.
CGM; Computer Graphics Metafile is a free and open international standard file format for 2D vector graphics, raster graphics, and text some advantages is that it is a free file format which works on many systems but in some programs CGM needs a filter to convert it for example working with companies abroad.

GIF.

GIF; files are a format commonly used for graphics presented on websites. GIFs can contain a maximum of 256 colours, and are therefore best for images that contain simple shapes, a limited colour palette, text and other elements as opposed to photos. GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format. It is also a raster and it is good because lossless compression and transparency are supported but lossless compression and transparency are limited and inferior to other formats.

PDF.
PDF (Portable Document Format) is a file format that has captured all the elements of a printed document as an electronic image that you can view, navigate, print, or forward to someone else. PDF files are created using Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat Capture, or similar products. It is also a raster and vector file, it can be opened on any system, as it does not run in a specific program but it cannot manipulate images once they are saved to this format.

PSD.
PSD file is a layered image file used in Adobe Photoshop. PSD, which stands for Photoshop Document, is the default format that Photoshop uses for saving data. PSD is a proprietary file that allows the user to work with the images individual layers even after the file has been saved. It is a raster file it allows images to be stored in layers PSD files can be imported to other software programs but PSD does not work with all programs.

TIF.
Tif is an image format file for high-quality graphics. TIF files are also called .TIFF, which stands for Tagged Image Format File. TIF files were created in the 1986 as a file format for scanned images in an attempt to get all companies to use one standard file format instead of multiple. It is a raster it is often used when scanning, both mac and computers support it but tiff is not supported by web browsers does not compress automatically so it creates a large file.

Raster file.
Most images you see on your computer screen are raster graphics. Pictures found on the Web and photos you import from your digital camera are raster graphics. They are made up of grid of pixels, commonly referred to as a bitmap. The larger the image, the more disk space the image file will take up.

Vector graphics.
A vector image is one of the two major graphic types (the other being bitmap). Vector graphics are made up of many individual objects. Each of these objects can be defined by mathematical statements and has individual properties assigned to it such as colour, fill, and outline. Vector graphics are resolution independent because they can be output to the highest quality at any scale.
