ADDENDUM: Status of Reclamations Mid-Pacific Region Recreational Facilities


SACRAMENTO, Calif. The Bureau of Reclamation announces the status of Mid-Pacific Region recreational facilities and amenities available to the public during the federal government shutdown. Facilities operating with lapsing federal appropriations are closed; those that are funded through concessions or operated by California State Parks are open. Shasta Dam: The Visitor Center is closed and the dam tours are cancelled as of Tuesday, October 1, until further notice. Lake Berryessa Recreation Area: All Reclamation-operated recreation areas are closed as of Tuesday, October 1, until further notice. This closure includes all Reclamation-operated boat launches, day use areas, trails, restrooms and the Dufer Point Visitor Center. New Melones Lake: All government operated recreation areas and facilities at New Melones Lake are closed as of Tuesday, October 1, until further notice. This closure includes boat launching, day use, campground, trails, RV dump stations, restrooms and the Visitor Center. Marina customers should contact

the New Melones Lake Marina at 209-785-3300, for information regarding existing reservations or access to privately owned boats in slips. Status of Reclamation lands managed by others: Folsom Lake State Recreation Area: Folsom Lake and Lake Natoma are open with all services continuing to be provided by California State Parks.
