Ry Moran.
Ry Moran, a Metis from Victoria B.C., graduated with Distinction from the University of Victoria. In 2005, he received the Pierre Falcon Award for Artistic Achievement. He hasreceived a Métis National Council National Role Model Award. He was named a NAHOAboriginal Health National Role Model 2008.Currently, Ry is the Director of Statement Gathering and the National Research Centrefor the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. In this role, he is directly responsible for anumber of core Commission mandates including statement gathering, documentcollection and the preservation of all collected materials. On October 5, 2013 he was thekeynote speaker at the
Talking About Aboriginal Archives Colloquium
at the Universityof Manitoba.Ry Moran worked with Traditions Consulting and is the founder of YellowTiltProductions, an audio, video, and events company with a focus on Aboriginal languageand oral history projects. YellowTilt has done work for the Native Women's Associationof Canada, Health Canada, the British Columbia Provincial Health Service Authority, andAPTN. With Metis Nation BC, he has been involved in the development of LearnMichif.com, a project dedicated to the preservation of Michif language and culture.1
