How I Work
Tank you for your consideration!
I know that working with a reelance designer the rst timeoten prompts a ew questions. Sometimes morethan a ew concerns, too.
How successul will I be ininterpreting your needs? How can I do it most eec-tively? How can I do it most efciently? How muchwill it cost?
Laying Te FoundationTe rst thing I do ater being assigned a project isinormation-gathering, which may require meetingsand conversations between me and your key sta.I am interested—not only in scheduling, budgetand job specications—but also in your preerences, target audience, and objectives. And, o course, I will want to know all the user eatures and benetso the business, product or service that you are wanting to promote. Although this process is somewhat time-consuming,it is also crucially important. It will help sharpenyour ocus and objectives, and it will help ensurethat what I produce is not only creatively excellent, but strategically targeted.
For your convenience, meetings may be conducted  via phone, e-mail, online conference or AIM.
Developing Te Right IdeasGood creative work doesn’t oten come in a ash o inspiration; usually it comes rom lots o trial anderror. Tis is why I also need to take the time to

consider several approaches (concepts), work themthrough, try them out, then revise them. In addition, there are usually some practical and unctional ends Ineed to tie up beore submitting my ideas—printingestimates, scheduling requirements, etc. All this, plus the need to schedule my workow in abusinesslike ashion, means that I normally
ask forup to ten days, depending on the job’s complexity, before I submit my rough concepts for your review.
O course, i you have a rush project or deadline pres-sure I can adjust my workow and timing accordingly.
Te rough concepts should only be viewed by yourproject manager and just one or two others.
Tisensures that we all stay ocused on the problem andare not distracted by too many personal opinions. My rough concepts will be adequate to convey whatI believe is the best approach to take, taking intoconsideration your budget, schedule, objectives, andpreerences. On the other hand, they are not so well-developed as to have wasted time and eort i Ineed a course correction. Ater viewing my rough concepts, send me yourcomments. Te more objective and specic you canbe, the better I will be able to respond. Commentsare our input or revising the rough concepts into anished one. With the input gathered rom second presentation,urther minor renements are made as necessary.
