VECTOR STRUCTURAL SYSTEM
TRUSSES

INTRODUCTION TO THESYSTEM
The system of straight linearmembers in which theredirection of forces iseffected by multi-directional splitting of forcesinto vectors alongcompressive and tensileelements.
VECTOR :value describingmagnitude of load anddirection of its application.
The main unit is a triangle.
THE DISTRIBUTION OF LOAD BY SPLITTING IT UPAT JUNCTIONS THAT ARE MUCH MORE CAPABLEOF BEARING LOAD THAN STRAIGHT CROSSSECTIONS OF MATERIALS.THIS IS THE PRINCIPAL THAT VECTORS USETHOROUGHLY.

TRUSS
A truss is composed of trianglesbecause of the structural stabilityof that shape and design.A triangle is the simplestgeometric figure that will notchange shape when the lengthsof the sides are fixed. Incomparison, both the angles andthe lengths of a four-sided figuremust be fixed for it to retain itsshape.
