Can you believe everything that the Roman Catholic Church tells you? If Rome saysone thing, and God in the Bible says the opposite, whom do you believe: God or Rome? The Roman Catholic Church believes many doctrines that are
contrary
tothe Bible and were
unknown
to the early church, such as:
1. P
RIESTS WANT TO BE CALLED
F
ATHER

Jesus warns us: ‘
Call no man father
upon the earth: for one is your Father, which isin heaven’ (Matthew 23:9).
2. P

For example: ‘Hail Mary, full of grace . . .’ butJesus commands us:‘After this manner therefore pray ye:
Our Father
which art in heaven’ (Matt. 6:9). Romepresents Christ as harsh and Mary asmerciful, but
Jesus invites us to ‘Come unto
me
, all yethat labour and are heavy laden, and I willgive you rest’ (Matthew 11:28).

Jesus assures us of His welcomeacceptance: ‘Him that cometh to me, I willin no wise cast out’ (John 6:37).

Jesus is our ‘
merciful
and faithful highpriest’ and ‘He is able to
comfort them
that are tempted’ (Hebrews 2:17,18)

3. P
RIESTS AND

God and Paul insist that: ‘A bishop must be blameless, the husband of one wife’(1 Timothy 3:2).
Peter was married, because Jesus healed his mother-in-law (Matthew 8:14;Luke 4:38).

2
‘Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, andPeter?’ (1 Corinthians 9:5).
God says: ‘It is not good that the man should be alone’ (Genesis 2:18).
‘To avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every womanhave her own husband’ (1 Corinthians 7:2).
‘Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall departfrom the faith . . . speaking lies in hypocrisy, . . . forbidding to marry, andcommanding to abstain from meats’ (1 Timothy 4:1-3). This is God’s descriptionof Catholic celibacy. Celibacy is permissible if one so chooses. It must not
becommanded.

Catholics, since childhood, have been taught that, to get into heaven, one must keepthe
sacraments
and

the
mass
and do
good works
– even then, they can
never know for sure
that they would go to heaven. What a worry! Death, to the Catholic,is fear of entering the fires of purgatory with no certainty of ever seeing their lovedones again. The priests tell them that no-one can ever be sure of going to heaven. For the people who trust their good works or religion to save them, this is true, because they never know if they have done enough good works to get into heaven. Not even the Pope knows for sure, so how can he help Catholics to be sure?God’s way into heaven is the
opposite
to Rome’s way of good works. God says notto trust your good works, but trust Jesus Christ’s death on the cross as the fullpayment for your sins. We can be 100% sure of heaven because God says:‘He that has the
Son has life
, and he that has not the Son of God
has not life
. .that ye may
know
that ye have
eternal life
’ (1 John 5:12,13).‘This is the promise that He hath
promised us
, even
eternal life
’ (1John 2:25).‘Whosoever shall
call
upon the name of the Lord,
shall be saved
’ (Romans 10:13)Question: Will you call on Jesus Christ tosave you from your sins, or will you try towork your way to heaven through theRoman Catholic sacraments?

Peter said to Jesus: ‘
Thou art the Christ
,the Son of the living God.’ Jesus replied:‘I say unto thee, that thou art Peter, and
upon this rock
I will build my church. And I will give unto thee the
keys
of thekingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thoushalt
bind
on earth shall be
bound
inheaven: and whatsoever thou shalt
loose
on earth shall be
loosed
in heaven’(Matthew 16:16-19).

Answers to three false conclusions of Rome from the above passage, are as follows:1) Jesus is referring to Himself (
this rock -
Christ, the Son of the living God) uponwhich He will build His church,
not on Peter
, because the 12 disciples, familiar with the Old Testament, knew ‘The Rock’ to be a name for God:a)
The Lord is my Rock
, and my fortress’ (Psalm 18:2).’He is the Rock, His word is perfect’ (Deuteronomy 32:4).’Who is a Rock, save our God.’We see here that there is
no other rock
than God, not even Peter.b)
Jesus Christ is the foundation rock on which the church is built, notPeter: Jesus
referred to Himself when He said: ‘the
stone
which the buildersrejected is become the head of the corner’ (Matthew 21:42).
Paul
referred to Jesus: ‘the
rock
that followed them was Christ’ (1 Corinthians10:4).
Peter
referred to Jesus as ‘a living stone’; ‘a chief corner stone’; ‘a stone of stumbling’; ‘a
rock
of offence’ (II Peter 2:4-8).c)
When
Peter tried to stop Jesus going to the cross, Jesus rebuked Peter, saying: ‘Get thee behind me Satan’ (Matthew 16:23). Jesus wouldn’t build Hischurch on Satan.d) In
Mark
9:33-35 the disciples argued
who was the greatest among them.
If Jesus had given Peter the chief rank of Pope, then Jesus would have referredto Peter as the greatest, but He didn’t.Thus Jesus gave
no special
papal leadership to Peter. Nor should we.2) Peter was given the
keys
of the kingdom of heaven (Christian profession in theChurch Age), only in the sense that it was Peter who opened the door of Gospelpreaching opportunity to Israel on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:38-42) and to theGentiles in the house of Cornelius (Acts 10:34-46). Peter opened the door bybeing the first preacher to see Jews and Gentiles saved in the Church Age.Everybody, who received Christ as Saviour, entered the kingdom through Christ, not Peter.3) Peter and priests do
not have
the
power
to
bind, loose, forgive
or
not forgivesins
, because only God has this power. Jesus gave to all the disciples (and byextension to all Christians) the privilege of announcing heaven’s terms on how aperson can receive forgiveness of sins. If a person receives Jesus as hisSaviour, then any Christian has the right to announce his forgiveness. If a personrejects Jesus Christ as Saviour, then any Christian can announce that person’ssins as not forgiven.

No, because:

1) Peter was
married
(Matthew 8:14,15 and 1 Corinthians 9:5). Popes cannot bemarried.2) Peter
wore no crown
as the pope does.3) Peter had
no wealth
as the pope has: ‘Peter said: silver and gold have I none.’(Acts 3:6).4) Peter
rejected
the ‘
tradition
from your fathers’ (I Peter 1:18), yet the Catholicchurch and popes’ teachings are based on man’s traditions.5) Peter
would not allow men to bow down to him
, as the pope does. ‘Corneliusmet him, fell down at his feet, and worshipped. Peter said, Stand up: I myself

Jesus said, "COME UNTO ME, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, & I WILL GIVE YOU REST. Take my yoke upon you, and LEARN OF ME; for I AM MEEK & LOWLY OF HEART; & YE SHALL FIND REST UNTO YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy, & MY BURDEN IS LIGHT." -MT 11:28-30.

Jonathan_Frederi_790, I thank you for your feedback, however I am wondering are you one of those sincere Roman Catholics who is not aware of your religion`s teachings OR are you one who is in plain denial?

This document contains many falsehoods which the Church does not teach, please be careful to present the facts. THERE IS GOOD NEWS FOR ROMAN CATHOLICS

1) The real Jesus Christ is at the right hand of God the Father in heaven WHERE HE STILL IS TODAY, until His 2nd Advent (Mk 16:19; Acts 2:33; Col 3:1; Heb 1:1-4,13; Rev 19:10-16) . Any "Jesus"on earth today, is NOT the Jesus Christ of the Bible!. God`s Holy Spirit, is the real Vicar of Christ. (Jn 14:26; 16: 8-11) who gave Pastors, Evangelists & Teachers to local churches (Ephesians 4:11-13).

2) "Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, [he is] in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe [it] not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." (Matt 24:26-27).

3) Of Jesus, the Bible says, "Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, & today & forever." in Hebrews 13:8. In the Old Testament the Bible says that God alone is the Rock (1 Samuel 2:2-3; Psalm 18:1-3; Psalm 62:1-2, 6). When Jesus gave the parable of the wise man & the foolish man, he was speaking firstly to Jews who would`ve understood what Jesus meant by building a house upon the rock (Mt 7:24).

4)In Matthew 16:13-20 Petros (Peter ) gave record of the Truth (Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God) which is the Rock (Petra) on which the family of God is built & true local churches. Other Christians are like Peter LIVELY STONES built into a spiritual house (1 PETER2:2-10)!

Only Jesus Christ is the Rock (PETRA) upon which the Church is built (Deuteronomy 32:3-4,15,18; 2Samuel 22:47; Psalm 62:1-2, 5-9, 95:1;118:21-23; Daniel 2:34-35; LUKE 20:17-19; Acts 4:8-12; ROMANS 9:31-33; 1 COR 3:11; 2COR 10:1-4; 1PETER 2:7-8.

Jesus Christ was not saying that His church would be built on Peter (Gk -Petros) John 1:42. Peter would be a mere faulty human foundation. a) Jesus rebuked him calling him Satan (Matthew 16:23). Would Jesus build His church on the created being called Satan?

Peter denied Christ 3 times even unto cursing (Matt 26:75; Mark 14:71-72; Luke 22:61-62) & along with the other disciples forsook Jesus & fled (Matt 26:56). Even after he was strengthened, after Christ`s resurrection - he was still fallible (GALATIANS 2:9-16)!

Blessed Peter was fallible like you & like me. Why would God the ROCK OF AGES, change the foundation from being Himself (Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God) to someone who is fallible?

In 1Peter 2:5-8 Peter himself speaks of fellow believers "also as lively stones", but of Jesus Christ as The Rock. Jesus Christ is, & is to be the only foundation for the church (1Cor 3:11), & the Apostle Paul also only calls Jesus CHRIST, The Rock (1 Corinthians 10:4) & Chief Corner Stone (Ephesians 2:20).

The early Christian church which begun in JERUSALEM (not Rome) & which spread out to Judea & Samaria as well as to Antioch where the believers were first called CHRISTIANS (Acts 1:8; 11:26) and so on, already canonized the true scriptures which were well worn & widely circulated amongst believers long before 200 A.D.

Long before Constantine`s professed conversion to Christ, & Rome`s claim to be the Mother church, & long before Martin Luther & Calvin, the early Church was already built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF THE CHIEF CORNER STONE. (EPHESIANS 2:20).

The Person of God`s Holy Spirit is God`s real presence on earth today - whose job is to convict (John 16:8-11); To Glorify our Lord Jesus Christ, who at present is still in heaven (Luke 20:41-44; Hebrews 1:3,13; John 16:13-14 ) & guide us into all of His revealed truth.

Jesus Christ is the Person called the Word of God, & is the true God (the Son) JOHN1:1; Revelation 19:11-13. The Bible is the written Word of God -sufficient for proper Doctrine, for reproof (reveals what`s wrong), for correction (how to get right), & for instruction in righteousness (how to stay right). To fully equip unto ALL Good Works- See 2Timothy 3:16-17.

Those who preached the Gospel but did not write a page of inspired scripture were not less important than those who did. In fact according to Mark 3:33-35 WHOEVER does God`s will (instead of contradicting it) is on the same level, even as Mary, the Mother of Jesus.

There are many cults that use the same references (John 20:30 & 21:25) to have their own add-ons which also undermine scripture, e.g/ The Mormons. The Bible only tells us what we need to know DEUTERONOMY 29:29, so you cannot add to it the contrary doctrines & teachings of men (MATTHEW 15:7-9), "... lest He reprove the & thou be found a liar (PROVERBS 30:5-6). Opps I`m an Ex-Mormon.

John 20:30 & 21:25 is answered by John 20:31 which says," But these things are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God: & that believing ye might have life through His Name." There is no possible way to count all of the miracles that Jesus did in His earthly ministry SO the Bible only tells us what we need to know for our finite minds.

What do you think about the belief of Islam? Do you know its cardinal beliefs?

I appreciate your feed back, but are you one who say that the Roman Catholic Religion does NOT teach what is dealt with in the tract I uploaded, OR are you one of many who say that the beliefs mentioned in the tract as Roman Catholic teachings are adequately supported by both the Old & New Testaments?

Mary merely said to Jesus, "They have no wine" (John 2:3), to which Jesus replied affectionately, "WOMAN, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come." (John 2:4), To which Mary said (to the others present), "Whatsoever He saith unto you, do it." (John 2:5). If Jesus came to us through Mary, why can't we go to Jesus through Mary? :) after all it was her intercession that cause his first miracle at the wedding of Cana, right?

Just as there is ONLY ONE GOD, so there is ONLY ONE MEDIATOR between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (see 1 Tim 2:5-6). Jesus Christ said, I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE, no man cometh unto the Father BUT BY ME." (John 14:6).
