On July 11, the 46th Annual Coon Dog Day was held in Saluda, NC. This event is a cel- ebration for dogs and their people! Great food, live music, a parade, crafts, a street dance and more was enjoyed by all.

supper fundraiser for the local Coon Club has grown into an event that attracts over 10,000 peo- ple each year. Live music on stage began in the morn- ing at 9 and contin- ued all day until the end of the street dance at 10 PM.

favorite every year, and consists of mostly homemade floats, trac- tors, fire trucks, horses, motorcycles, dogs, and the reigning Coon Dog Royalty Court. The parade began at 11 and marched down Main Street for over an hour. Trophies were awarded for the best floats in several categories.

There were food, craft, and local non-profit ven- dors set up throughout town with a wide variety of handmade items and foods. The Coon Club conducted their shows and contests at the school yard in the afternoon, and people gath- ered for the night street dance, complete with square dancing for all ages.
