All these attributes are taken from little pieces from his lore found when I reaserched him on the internet. heaven. His body is in the 5 holy colors: red, yellow, blue, white and black Voice sounds like a 'temple bell' Born in the heart of the earth and lives behind the clouds Magic signs on his back (according to legend when a Chinese emperor saw it and copied them the first written language came to existance) Kirin in Japanese or also KiLin, because he has male (Ki) and female (Lin) powers (analog to Yin Yang)

Idea's Abilities
Important note: Read for karma yin, yang (is changed in the making of this concept)

Passive: Yin Yang


Description Qilin's ability to distinguish the good from the bad allows him to enhance its ability. All actions taken by you, your allies and enemies result in good or bad karma, which in turn gives a multiplier on all skills, changing the ability compleltly based on the amount of karma. Also his appearance (see also Appearance tab) will change based on this. Mainly the fire from his body and the way how he acts (in terms of animations) will change. Using abilities or after a certain time is passed the karma goes back to the neutral again. Dieing or going back into the fountain also reset the karma again back to neutral (karma = 0) A graphical passive HUD will be displayed to show the current level of Karma (and small lines should be visble to show the discrete steps, which makes the model (pure astehical visuals) changes. This has no effect on gameplay.) A Yin Yang symbol showing either the black or white side getting filled up. In the middle a graphical indicator should be placed to show with stance the ult is. Important note: Even though the abilities themselve change dynamically (can change literally every frame) he does have different skill icons, which change based on this karma system. Also the 'good' karma is difined on the interval [0,100] and the 'bad' karma is defined on [-100,0>. The animation change and fx change will be in discrete steps (4 total). Defined on the intervals: [-100,-50> ; [-50,0>;[0,50>,[50,100]. Even though the skill icons changes based on karma your CD's are shared. Actually it's the same ability, but works differently with different karma. Note: Could even be more aesome if good and bad karma could be build up both at the same time. (then mixed abilities) As you will see he is a bit contradictory. He will/can only attack +/- when he is attacked, limiting his support abilities and strengthen its attack. So to get 'optimal'sustain you need to have patience and do some karma managament (the more you fight the lesser you can heal and vica versa) His actions are therefore heavily depended on the enemies and sort of mimics them, also therefore it also forces him to be supportive, because technically he doesn't have intiation at all. Even though some more control over karma to make him a

little bit more feasible as character will be provided with his ultimate ability (ability number 4). In general the modifier can be quite powerful if able to fill the meter completly. This is (not without full ult) very easy to do, but it's relatively easy to go from one karma to the other. Also the karma system uses a quadratic relation to make sure the multiplier is useful, but not too much. Calculations

Karma can only take values in between -100 and 100 ([-100,100]).

The two lines shows the karma multiplier VS karma level for both the good and bad karma case. The other numbers, which are heavily dependend on lvl, items, time in match is therefore (at least tried) to normalize with your lvl. The modifier is the follow obtained from ability number 4 to actively be able to have control over karma yourself as a player. (1.6.1.2.3)

(n is the framenumber) The system of getting and losing karma is only partly here done. It only includes all external factors and not the interal ones (damage done, buffs casted himself, etc. that will be included in the abilities itself). (1.6.1.2.4)

Ability 1: Dragon's son


Being a son of a dragon fire is in his nature depending on his karma level the flames will come mainly from the fire out of his body or his mouth. 17 times 5/9/13/17/21 (+6% of 16 magical power) every 0.5 seconds. (vibrant, radiant fire from his body even multiple colors) = 0 times 20/30/40/50/60 (+6% of magical power) every 0.5 seconds (breathes fire from his mouth) In a 30ft radius Qilin heals him and his allies for = Duration: 4 seconds Karma: +/- 30 (direction always to the neutral point 0, but these modifiers on the abilities can't make the karma switch. It will only bring the karma to the neutral point.) CD: 12 seconds Channeled ability, can be cancelled earlier. (can move during the channel) Type: Magical, cone/aura. Heal/damage

Ability 2: Sacred voice Buff/Debuff + CC. Disarm, seal/silence


When having positive karma: Qilin uses his soothing temple voice to sooth the enemy in 85 lowering their guards. Enemies are disarmed (can't AA) and slowed by ( = %) for 4 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 seconds. (25 ft radius with 90 degrees angle, a cone) When having negative karma: Qilin roars at his enemies, followed by a fire ball (single target damage, damage in a line and is a projectile), which does ( = 0 times 40/80/120/160/200 +70% of your magical power) (+/- 60ft radius and width of a Ra beam) CD: 16/15/14/13/12 seconds Karma: +/- 30

Ability 3: Gracious trot


When having posititve karma: Qilin becomes invisble for all enemies outside a 20ft radius and can't be detected by wards and his walk/run stance doesn't make sound at all. And gains 10/20/30/40/50% movement speed increase. Very useful against ranged enemies, for repositioning, switching lanes, etc. Fast map travel. When having negative karma: Qilin holds it's step, reduced movement speed (-50%), absorbing/negatating 50/65/75/85/100% of damage dealt during the duration and converting it to mana (50% conversion). Veru useful while in combat, this keeps and forces you to fight (to revenge). And provides neccesary sustain. Both abilities are channeled and can't be stacked, but can be cancelled earlier. Additonally:

When this ability is channeled (shorter duration) a fiery explosion will happen in a 20ft radius dealing 50/85/120/155/190 (+60% of your magical power) (minor extra damage) 51 Duration: = seconds. 16 CD: 16 seconds Karma: +/- 15

Ability 4: Will of Justice


Using his will of justice Qilin can use his willpower to decide the neccesary actions that has to be taken to keep the peace. Passive: 85 Gain + = % additional movement speed. 8 Gain + = 0% additional attack speed. Active: Toggling this ability allows Qilin to passively (over time) gain a certain type of karma, allowing control active control over the 'stance'. Gain: 1/2/3/4/5 karma every 0.5 seconds (karma towards either good or bad, depending on the switch) CD: 1-3 seconds Note: Ult not available until lvl 5 (unlike Hel). Also whatever this ult is on bad or good karma will also be soon in the middle of the passive indicator. You definitly want to lvl up his ult as soon as possible to get active control over his kit, get a good passive mutliplier so the abilities hit harder. Even though this ult gives control over the yin yang levels it also can be a double edge sword, because you even have one more parameter, which can influence everything. (it's analogous from the concept behind the passive)
