On July 15th about 2pm, MerrittRCMPreceived a report of a home inva-sion. After a brief investigation, theyattended the Prince Motel on NicolaAve., and arrested 3 young men fromSurrey. Asearch of the unit came upwith $6000 in cash and close to 100grams of crack cocaine and other drugparaphernalia.A23-year old Surrey man has beencharged with: 4 counts of assault caus-ing bodily harm, assault with a weapon,B&E and commit an indictable offence,unlawful confinement, and possessionfor the purpose of trafficking cocaine.A21-year old Surrey man has beencharged with 1 count each of: B&E andcommit an indictable offence, unlawfulconfinement, assault with a weapon,and possession for the purpose of traf-ficking in a narcotic.They remain in custody waiting toappear before a judge, and the investiga-tion continues. The victims suffered onlyminor injuries. No further info is avail-able at this time.
Tim Kroeker back on the track
Tim Kroeker will compete this week-end at the Canadian Masters Track &Field Championships at HillsideStadium inKamloops, along with 500athletes, all over the age of 35.Tim competed in the 1996 SummerOlympics in Atlanta, then suffered aknee injury & settled down here, work-ing as a registered massage therapist.Tim decided to hit the track again, toshow his 3 kids what Dad used to do.And it got back in his blood. He’s goinginto this race with a minor injury, buthe’s got his eye on the World MastersIndoor Athletics Championships, sched-uled for Kamloops’ Tournament CapitalCentre March 1-6, 2010.
