MARK DAYTON FOR A BETTER MINNESOTA

Governor Dayton won by roughly 9,000 votes in 2010 and we expect 2014 to be another competitive, but hopefully successful, election. Join the Dayton team to become an integral part of this statewide campaign! You will be assigned projects that best match your interests and experience see description below. An internship with Governor Daytons campaign is a great way to network with a wide variety of elected officials and to gain insight into the inner workings of state elections. For those looking to pursue a career in elections or politics, this is a fantastic time and place to start.
Work Schedule: Hours per Week: Compensation: Flexible: mostly business hours, some events on evenings and weekends 10-20 Although this is an unpaid position, we will work with your college or university to ensure that you receive credit for your work. (Note: It is the student's responsibility to seek possible credit for this internship.)

Start/End Date: Flexible Supervisor: Jaime Makepeace, Political Director Job Description: Provide logistical assistance at various meetings, events and fundraisers for Governor Dayton and the DFL Party. Compose letters, briefings, and correspondence for Governor Dayton and his staff Conduct research on campaign finance, constituent issues, past election results, and legislative actions and bills. Engage with volunteers statewide and help to encourage attendance at political events. Qualifications: Strong written and verbal communication skills Interest in politics, campaigns, economics, public relations, communications, or finance Ability to meet volunteers, donors, legislators, and candidates and deal with them in a courteous and professional manner Ability to work both independently and as a team member Passion for the Democratic Party's platform and values Desire to make connections within the Minnesota political arena and the DFL Please send a resume and brief letter of interest to Jaime Makepeace at jmakepeace@markdayton.org.
