The Initiative or Peacebuilding (IP) is a consortium led by International Alert and unded by the EuropeanCommission. IP draws together the complementary geographic and thematic expertise o 10 civil societyorganisations (and their networks) with oces across the EU and in confict-aected countries.  About ICTJ
The International Center or Transitional Justice (ICTJ) assists countries pursuing accountability or past massatrocity or human rights abuse. The Center works in societies emerging rom repressive rule or armed confict, aswell as in established democracies where historical injustices or systemic abuse remain unresolved.In order to promote justice, peace, and reconciliation, government ocials and nongovernmental advocates arelikely to consider a variety o transitional justice approaches including both judicial and non-judicial responses tohuman rights crimes. The ICTJ assists in the development o integrated, comprehensive, and localized approachesto transitional justice comprising ve key elements: prosecuting perpetrators, documenting and acknowledgingviolations through non-judicial means such as truth commissions, reorming abusive institutions, providingreparations to victims, and acilitating reconciliation processes.The Center is committed to building local capacity and generally strengthening the emerging eld o transitional justice, and works closely with organizations and experts around the world to do so. By working in the eld throughlocal languages, the ICTJ provides comparative inormation, legal and policy analysis, documentation, and strategicresearch to justice and truth-seeking institutions, nongovernmental organizations, governments and others.
