INTRODUCTION
Book I, “The Journeys”, is a chronicle of personal "psychic" experiences.These experiences occurred over a period of many years, and areattributed mainly to my research into the subject of parapsychology.Parapsychology, in its broadest sense, examines the lesser-known powersthat normally lie dormant in the human psyche. These powers includeextra-sensory perception (ESP), direct telepathy, psychometry,clairvoyance, clairaudience, prediction, mediumship, channelling andastral projection.Although I investigated, and used, all these innate psychic faculties, it isthe latter - astral projection, in particular, that underpins the subjectmatter of this book.Astral projection, also known as "remote viewing," "travellingclairvoyance" and "out-of-body experience" is, basically, the projectionof consciousness beyond the confines of the physical body. In other words, the physical body is left lying inertly, while consciousness travelsto other dimensions or planes of existence. These "dimensions" aretraditionally known as the "astral planes."Before we examine the nature of the astral planes, it is necessary to give a brief overview of the human energy system in order to demonstrate howconsciousness can be projected from the human body.Apart from its chemical and cellular structure, the human body is a waveof electromagnetic energy. This energy works through and surrounds thehuman body. Clairvoyants, who have the ability to see this energy field,refer to it as the "aura." Not only can the aura be seen by those with psychic/clairvoyant vision, but it can also be photographed using atechnique called "Kirlian photography."This energy field can extend anywhere from six to thirty-six inches beyond the body's surface, depending on the mental/emotional condition, physical health and energy level of the human being. It is composed of avariety of colours and each colour represents a particular frequency of energy. These frequencies range from short wave to long wave, or to putit another way, from a relatively dense vibration rate to a very subtlevibration rate.This energy field can extend anywhere from six to thirty-six inches beyond the body's surface, depending on the mental/emotional condition,
