Greetings Fellow Smokers:My name is Garry Hall and I have been a cigarette smoker for over 40 years.Sure, I have heard all of the horror stories about the long-term effects of smoking, and I have accepted the fact that there are risks involved. I also fully realize thatmuch of the world in-general has taken legal actions to prevent us from smoking inpublic places . . . and I am okay with that too. I wouldn't want to be the cause of anydiscomfort to a non-smoker, since I believe in their right to shop, eat, & work in asmoke-free environment. That being said, I can't help but think that an injustice has been done to smokers. The new, extremelyhigh tax increase that has been placed on tobacco products isan OUTRAGE, and it is bound to create a truckload of trouble in the long-run. In fact,it is likely to cause many former, law-abiding citizens to break the law by seeking-out and using black market sources for their cigarette supplies. I guess you couldsay that it's just about as close as you can get to the old days of prohibition, withoutactually calling it that. So, the question is,"How can we smokers continue to enjoy smoking at a REASON-ABLE price without breaking any laws?" Well . . . you can try contacting your local legislator, but it's really quite doubtful thatyou will get any results. Why? . . . Because there are too many people (non-smokers)who see no problem whatsoever with this new tax increase. Now if the tax onalcohol was increased and the price of beer went up a dollar-a-can, you can bet that a muchlarger number of people would be kicking up a storm . . . especially all of the alcohol-ics on Capitol Hill . . . of which there are many.We all know that cigarettes are no longer as "popular" as they once were, and muchof the public has taken a "who cares?" approach to the issue of this new, exorbitanttax hike. This leaves few options to those of us who wish to continue smokingwith-outhaving to pay these huge taxes.I have done an extensive amount of research on the internet to find various ways tofor us to legally get around this issue and I have listed these options on the pagesthat follow.I trust this information will serve you well . . .

OPTION #1:MOVE TO THE STATE OF DELAWAREAt the time of this writing (July 14, 2009), there are currently no proposals to in-crease cigarette taxes in Delaware. However, chances are likely that this couldchange in the near future. Ultimately, it would be quite a radical act to pull-up stakesand move your family to Delaware only to discover soon after, that the cigarette taxwas increased there as well . . . In my opinion, this would be a bit too risky!OPTION #2:GROW YOUR OWN TOBACCOPersonally, I have no problem with getting my hands a little dirty to save $1200 to$1500 or more a year . . . How about you?Growing tobacco is not that difficult at all (if you know how to do it right). In fact, it'sactually a lot of fun and extremely rewarding! There are a few thing that you'll need to learn in order to successfully grow and en- joy tobacco at home . . .
