The book presents an easy to use, practical framework for understanding individual motivation by combining Locus of Control and Perceived Value (to the individual) to form a Motivational Grid. It also introduces the concept of Motivational Vectors. A Motivational Vector combines the force and direction of motivation to give a graphical representation of an individual’s motivation. Five laws for working with Motivational Vectors are presented. The remainder of the book is devoted to presenting tools and approaches for managing motivation using the Motivational Vector Grid.
