Description

The Athens Blur Magazine (www.athensblur.com) is a monthly variety publication based in the “Classic City” of Athens, GA that specializes in music, offering an equal mix of local and national spotlights of almost every genre.

Athens doesn’t need much of an introduction in itself. Named “The Best College Music Scene that Rocks” by Rolling Stone Magazine in 2003, we are home to 185,000 residents and the 30,000 plus students at The University of Georgia. Athens has long been a hot-bed and breeding ground for some of the finest music in (and beyond) the U.S. In fact, Athens boasts the most bands per capita of anywhere in the country and artists such as R.E.M, The B-52’s, Love Tractor, Pylon, Of Montreal, The Whigs and Modern Skirts have or continue to call Athens home. Where there is great music, there are great fans, and Athens has plenty of those. Knowledgeable, dependable and receptive, Athens music fans are among the best.
