100.00 PURPOSE
100.01The purposes of the ASWSUV By-Laws shall be to:A.Implement the ASWSUV Constitution.B.Specify the policies and operating procedures of ASWSUV not otherwiseenumerated in the ASWSUV Constitution.C.Specify the powers, functions, duties, and responsibilities of all ASWSUVofficials not otherwise enumerated in the ASWSUV Constitution.D.Serve as the organizational manual for ASWSUV.E.The ASWSUV By-laws shall not be in conflict with ASWSUV constitution,rules and regulations of Washington State University, laws of city, state, andcounty government. (2-27-98)
110.00 BY-LAW AUTHORITY
110.01No part of these By-Laws may supersede any part of the ASWSUV Constitution.110.02If any part of these By-Laws is found to be in conflict with the ASWSUV Constitution, itshall be amended in such a fashion that it is not longer in conflict with the Constitution.
120.00 BY-LAW COMPLIANCE
120.01All members of ASWSUV serving in any capacity whatsoever within ASWSUV must complywith the By-Laws, unless such compliance is in direct conflict with the ASWSUVConstitution, the rules and regulations of Washington State University, or the laws of thecity, county, state, or federal government.120.02Willful and/or deliberate disregard of these By-Laws shall be grounds for removal fromoffice through impeachment, recall, or dismissal.120.03 For the purposes of any and all deadlines outlined in the Constitution and/or By-Laws, hoursand days shall be defined in the following ways:A. All references to “days” or “school days” in the Constitution and By-Lawsshall mean those days (Monday through Friday only) designated by theUniversity as “instructional days.”B. All references to “hours” that are multiples of 24 (i.e., one day) will beinterpreted in the same manner as the above paragraph.
130.00 BY-LAW FORM
130.01The ASWSUV By-Laws shall be divided into titles dealing with related and similar subjects.Each title shall be, in turn, divided into a numerically designed set of chapters.130.02Each chapter may be subdivided by means of a decimal arrangement. For example: Chapter 100.00, 100.01, 100.02, and so on; and each of these sections may in turn be subdivided bythe use of capital letters in alphabetical order.
