A CHILD’S QUESTION TO HER MOTHER: WHY THE TERRORISTS ATTACKED THEIR COUNTRY?
PERTANYAAN SEORANG ANAK KEPADA IBUNYA, MENGAPA TERORIS MENYERANG NEGARA
MEREKA.
  My child, some people have
“purposes” and they see our
beautiful country where more than
200 million people live in simple
lives...
 Anakku, beberapa orang punya tujuannya sendiri dan
mereka melihat negeri kita yang indah dimana hidup
lebih dari 200 juta orang dalam kesederhanaan.
 The terrorists, many of them are actually
smart people. Unfortunately they grow
hatred in their heart and they need a way to
revenge for their anger toward their lives.
Banyak dari mereka yang sebetulnya orang pandai tapi
sayangnya memiliki kebencian di hati mereka dan mencari
cara untuk membalas dendam atas kemarahan mereka
terhadap hidup mereka.
 Then the terrorists see our country, a
place where people from anywhere are
warmly welcome, a peaceful place where
people are smiling although many
people are living in poverty.
Lalu mereka melihat negeri kita, sebuah tempat di
mana orang dari mana saja disambut hangat,
sebuah tempat yang damai di mana orang-orang
tersenyum meskipun masih hidup dalam
kemiskinan.
 These people think they could take
advantage of us with their belief in
hate, that people should hate others
like they do.
Orang-orang ini berpikir bahwa mereka dapat
mengambil keuntungan dari kita dengan
keyakinan mereka atas kebencian, bahwa
orang harusnya membenci orang lain seperti
yang mereka lakukan
 The terrorists see our brother and sister’s
modesty and difficulties as the door to
enter this country and ruin our lives. They
think we can be like them, who believe that
killing others is the way to live.
Mereka melihat kesederhanaan dan kesukaran hidup kita
sebagai pintu untuk masuk ke negeri ini dan
menghancurkan hidup kita. Mereka mengira bahwa kita
dapat menjadi seperti mereka yang percaya bahwa
membunuh orang lain adalah cara untuk hidup.

IN INDONESIA, RELIGION PRACTICES IS GUARANTEED BY NATIONAL LAW. THIS IS A

REFLECTION OF THE COUNTRY’S REAL CONDITION WHERE AMONG IT’S 86.1% MUSLIM
POPULATIONS [MORE THAN ANY COUNTRY WITH PREDOMINANT MUSLIM POPULATION
IN THE WORLD], CHRISTIANS, HINDUS, BUDDHISTS ARE THRIVING.
THERE ARE MORE THAN 400 ETHNIC GROUPS LIVE IN INDONESIA, INCLUDING CHINESE,
INDIAN, ARAB, CAUCASIANS DESCENDS. INDONESIA IS “THE TRUEST ASIA”. AN ATTACK
TO THIS COUNTRY, IS A SYMBOL TO ATTACK TO ANY COUNTRY IN THIS PLANET.
BUT WE ARE NOT LIKE THEM.
We have been tortured, we
have been hurt, but we are
not going to be like them.
Tapi kita tidak seperti mereka. Kita telah disiksa, kita telah
disakiti tapi kita tidak akan menjadi seperti mereka.

INDONESIANS ARE NOTED AS VERY FORGIVING PEOPLE, THAT CONTINUALLY SHOW

WARM AND OPEN ATTITUDE TOWARDS ITS NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES, EVEN WHEN
ENCOUNTERING TO ITS PREVIOUS ERA COLONIALISTS [A CONTRAST TO ANY COUNTRY
THAT HAS EXPERIENCE OF COLONIALISM].
 We will heal our wounded heart
and stand up again as
INDONESIANS who have always
love lives. We are not going to give
up and we will fight them back!
Kita akan menyembuhkan luka hati kita dan berdiri kembali
sebagai ORANG-ORANG INDONESIA yang selalu mencintai hidup.
Kita tidak akan menyerah dan kita akan melawan mereka!

My child, Indonesian will stand together
as a nation. This vast archipelago will go
unite and work together to protect our
country.
Anakku, orang Indonesia akan berdiri bersama sebagai sebuah
bangsa. Kita akan bersatu dan bekerjasama untuk melindungi
negeri kita.

Kita akan tunjukkan kepada para teroris itu bahwa kita
bukan pecundang dan mereka tidak akan memakai kita
lagi untuk kepentingan mereka.
 THE REAL PUNISHMENT TO THE TERRORISTS-CRIMINALS IS BY
OUR SHOWING THAT INDONESIANS ARE NOT SCARED AND
NOT BUYING THE HATE THEY SPREAD.
WE SHALL CONTINUE TO WORK TO BUILD OUR FOUNDING
FATHER’S DREAM: TO BUILD A FREE COUNTRY THAT STAND
UNITED, DIGNIFIED, FULL WITH JUSTICE, AND PROSPEROUS.

Orang Indonesia tidak akan terpengaruh dengan

ketakutan dan kebencian yang disebarkan para teroris.
Kita akan membentuk cita-cita generasi pendahulu:
membentuk negara merdeka, bersatu, berdaulat, adil,
dan makmur.
