The theatre's ballroomwas used for the White House press corps for news conferences when Eisenhower was at hisfarm.* 1961-1975 owner: RKO Stanley Warner (partly owned by Pacific Theatres)* 1970 the North American premiere of Federico Fellini's "Satyricon"* 1980 Owner: CAPA, Ltd.* 1983 a fire next door at the hotel causedheavy damage to the theatre.* 1984 reopened with 3 cinemas by R/C Theatres* 1993 the world premiere of Ted Turner's"Gettysburg"* Late 1990's closed* 2005 reopened as a performing arts center called The Jennifer and David LeVanPerforming Arts Center. 2 new cinemas withdigital projection were built alongside theMajestic.
