Blogging and Web 2.0 Activity Sheet

Web 2.0 is a fun way to connect yourself and your club with othermembers and clubs around the world as well as attract new members toyour club and the organization. Follow these tasks to move from Web 1.0(webpages and blogs) into Web 2.0.
1)
Flickr
At your next club meeting or at today’s conference, takepictures with a digital camera.
Open a free account athttp://www.flickr.com
Upload your photos to your account
Select tags to describe your photos. Make sure you include“toastmasters” as one of those tags.
Create a set of photos related to Toastmasters and put a link tothis set on your club’s webpage.

YouTube
Visithttp://www.youtube.comand create an account
Search for videos about Toastmasters
Watch a variety of them and mark your favorites.
Create a new “play list” for Toastmasters when you save yourfavorites.
Consider adding, to your club’s webpage, the link for your playlist so others can view the videos.

Google Groups
Visit https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount
Create a Google Account (this can also be used for GMail andother cool tools from Google).
When your account is set up, visithttp://groups.google.com and make sure you are logging into your Google Account
Search for Toastmasters in Groups.
Review some of the results to see how club’s are using this tool.
Specifically locate alt.org.toastmasters – this is a newsgrouprelated to Toastmasters
Review the conversations. If you find one of interest, contributea response. You can also post an introduction to the group.
