August 15, 2012Dear Homeowner in "
The Commons at Harrington Grove
" Subdivision,A few months ago the City of Raleigh approved takeover and maintenance of the private streets inyour neighborhood. As a result, the "
Commons HOA
" was dissolved but two items need to be resolvedrequiring your signature(s) on the enclosed petition form provided by the City of Raleigh, TransportationDivision.
THE ENCLOSED PETITION NEEDS TO BE SIGNED BY THE HOMEOWNER(S) ANDRETURNED IN THE PREPAID ENVELOPE TO CHARLESTON MANAGEMENT
NOT LATERTHAN FRIDAY, AUGUST 14, 2009
IN ORDER TO PREVENT HAVING TO PREPARE ASECOND MAILING - PLEASE RETURN THE PETITION WITH OUR THANKS.
First
, the 20 MPH signs installed by the (former) Commons HOA must be replaced with City of Raleighspeed limit signs. The minimum City speed is
25 MPH
and we request your signature on said petition. If wedon't receive your signature, the speed limit will be the standard City
35 MPH
which we believe is too fast forthe narrow streets located in your subdivision.
Second
, Up to now and in the interest of pedestrian safety, narrow roads, access to homes by City of Raleigh emergency vehicles, snow removal or street cleaning vehicles, coupled with the lack of sidewalksthroughout the neighborhood, prohibited vehicular parking on the streets within
The Commons
. In order forthis safety control to continue, it requires your approval and petition signature. We must receive 75% of homeowner signatures for the aforementioned petition. With 120 homes, this will require at least 90 signed petitions and to allow for a margin of error, we are soliciting 80% of homeowner petitions (96 homes). Please let us know if you have any questions concerning this information and we look forward to receivingyour signed petition soon.Sincerely,The Harrington Grove Community Homeowner's Association (HG HOA)
