Should you be elected, what are three specific areas you’d like
to change, address, improve or further research, and how specifically would you go about it?:
____________________________________________________________________________________I feel the most important issue is to continue to provide the best possible services to our residents, while dealingwith continued funding cuts and without tax increases. ____________________________________________________________________________________Maintenance and improvement of our township roads, park, cemetery, buildings and equipment are all part of the above but encompass an overview of what we hope to continue to accomplish. ___________________________________________________________________________________Communication with our residents is another of my priorities. I feel very strongly that our residents need tocontinually be informed and updated about what is happening in THEIR township. They need to have a voice andtheir Trustees need to listen. ____________________________________________________________________________________The first two areas are being accomplished through careful fiscal planning. I work very closely with our fiscalofficer. We plan and save for all major projects and purchases. We avoid taking on debt. We use statecooperative pricing and competitive bidding. We replace equipment on a 10 year rotation plan but always saveand have a contingency plan for emergencies. For our roads, we combine several roads into one resurfacingproject which enables us to achieve better pricing and efficiency. ___________________________________________________________________________________Since communication with our residents is another high priority, I write a weekly newspaper column andinstituted and continue to edit a quarterly township newsletter to let our residents continually know what ishappening in their township. ___________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________

In 2012 I completed the necessary training to become a member of the Ohio TownshipAssociation Leadership Academy and received my diploma at the OTA Conference in January, 2013. ___________________________________________________________________________________
Hambden Township and its’ residents mean a lot to me. I have spent the last twenty two years trying
to do the best possible job for my community. I always try to make myself available to help our residents with anyproblems or concerns they come to me with. ___________________________________________________________________________________
I stressed this before. I began and continue to edit a quarterly township newsletter. I write aweekly newspaper column and I was instrumental in having a lighted sign placed in front of the township halllisting all meetings and special events. These things are all to keep our residents informed. I always urge them toattend our township meetings as well, because it is so important that they are involved in the operation of
