OPERATIONS:
Port Authority
told
us to
evacuate.
We
thought
there
had
been
an
explosion
in
Tower
1.E-1 &
e-16
started down
the
stairs together
with
Port
Autority
Personnel.
We
came
across
an elderly
woman named
Josephineon
about
the 8th
floor.
At
this point
Lt.
Desperito
ordered
us to
evacuate
the
building
while
he stayed
with
P.A.
Supervisor to
assist
Josephine
in
evacuating.
As we
were
exiting
lobby
of
Tower
one we
assisted
inremoving
an
elderly gentleman
and a
heavyset woman
from
the
lobby.

outside
we
were
heading northwest when
building
came

were blown around

blast
of
wind
and hit
with debris.
We
became seperated
as we
made
our way out of the
dust
and
smoke.

staging area
on
West street.

this point
we
were
told
Lt.

had
been killed
in the
collapse.

At
this
moment
is
whenthe South Tower began to collapse. Myself and many
other
members began
running
through
the
garage
of the
Financial Center
building,
and
finding
stairs
on the
West sideof
the
building,
came
up and out of building in a
mall area near
the
Battery Park Marina.
I
Lt.Walsh began
to
search
for my
members
who I had
previously
staged North
of the
staging area. All of my members were able to escape to Vessy Street
during
the South
Tower
Collapse.
In the
interim
of the
time
I
escaped
from the
collapse
and thus
seperated
of 00
