Postgraduate Bioethics Conference 2014 Proposals

We would like to invite proposals from postgraduate students working in any area of bioethics to convene the 8th Annual Postgraduate Bioethics Conference (PGBC 2014). Proposals, which should be not more than 500 words, should address the following points: Applicants (minimum two) and their affiliations; Proposed hosting institution/venue; A theme for PGBC 2014 that is broad enough to attract researchers from all areas of bioethics; A commitment from their department(s) to underwrite the conference;
NB: Previous PGBCs have been very successful in gaining external funding. However, applicants should proceed on the basis that a substantial financial contribution may be required from their department(s).

Whether the applicants have the support of an academic mentor willing to provide substantial assistance.
NB: This is strongly recommended. The academic mentor would usually, but need not necessarily, be from the same institution as one of the convenors.

Proposals should be submitted, in document or PDF format, to postgrad.bioethics@outlook.com. The deadline for submissions is 4 November 2013. Applicants will be notified of the outcome of the selection process on 11 November 2013. Selection will be made by a panel comprising Isra Black (KCL), Lisa Forsberg (KCL), Alex McKeown (Bristol), Annette Rid (KCL), and James Wilson (UCL). Please write to us at postgrad.bioethics@outlook.com with any questions. Details of PGBC 2013 can be found on postgradbioethics.org.
