Since my last post,I got curious about what exactly Keith Miller wrote in his book about embryology and the Quron. I read it (page 9, ISBN 0-7216-9412-8, year of publication 2003).

Here it is, verbatim:" The holy book of Muslims, that human beings are produced from a mixture of secretions from the male and female. Several references are made to the creation of a human being from a nutfa (small drop). It also states that the resulting organism settles in the womb like a seed, 6 days after its beginning. Reference is also made to the leechlike appearance of the early embryo. Later the embryo is said to resemble a "chewed substance"

"Chewed substance" Great! This is coming directly from God? It is quite obvious Dr. Miller was not thrilled by the Quron, in contrast to what isdescribed in this article by Gary Miller.

Now- Look at what Dr. Keith Miller says on the same page of his embryology textbook about early human development as described in the Hindu scripture, Garba Upanishad, dating 1416 B.C. !!!

" From the conjugation of blood and semen the embryo comes into existence. During the period favorable for conception, after the sexual intercourse, (it) becomes a kalada (one-day old embryo). After remaining seven nights, it becomes a vesicle. After a fortnight it becomes a spherical mass. After a month, it becomes a firm mass. After two months the head is formed. After three months the limb region appears"

Wow! That is more accurate than the Quron. The stages described in the Hindu scriptures actually goes through fertilized zygote, then a morula, then a blastula, etc.

So, Quron is not all that scientific, is it?

Here is my take on the Quron: Far east travellers from India carried all the scientific knowledge to Middle East. The primitive Arabs learnt what they could and put it in the Quron.

I did not find anything amazing!

Describing a strom at sea- anyone who can sit on a beach on a stormy day can see what a storm at sea is like.

Smallest particle known to man described as the 'dharrah'(atom?) is no big deal.Ancient Hindu scriptures have described the atom as 'anu'

Regarding medicinal properties of Honey- Ayurvedic medicine which pre-dates Jesus by thousands of years have described the medicinal properties of honey, and a whole bunch of natural remedies.

The best part is the embryology stuff: I know of Keith Moore's work.He is obviously being polite in listening to the description of leech-like embryo stage. That is it? I thought God could have gone the whole 9 yards and escribed the entire events of fertilization, cleavage, implantation, types of placenta, and the phylogeny of Hox genes!

Regarding solar system, Aryabatta before Jesus described a sun-centric planetary system, but the credit was given to Copernicus.

In other words, Man has been brainy for thousands of years, and knowledge that we percieve emanated from the Gods is merely hased up books.
