Cynthia and the Blue Cat’s Last Meow is perhaps best described as magical realism – red berries and howling caverns, fury and fishing, moonlight and candlelight, where we dream of blue cats and hearts capable of adventurous and idyllic sensuality. Allow yourself to enter Cynthia’s world.
A young man enters a colorful, anthropomorphic land that appears perfect, and Cynthia is the embodiment of that land. Gradually, he sees his own tormented soul hidden beneath the natural beauty. He sees, but cannot readily accept, the demons gnawing at his heart. The unleashing and dissolution of his fears and his maturing perception of Cynthia is written in a taut, suspenseful style.
The offbeat natural setting is established within the first few pages and progresses into a rich ménage of unusual happenings and vivid colors, a land where many of us would like to visit, and a few do, briefly in our youth. But this is not a children's book. Mainly for adult readers in their twenties and thirties, but also for those of us who remember. Or if you are just looking for a little romance with a romantically inclined, sensual, and imaginative mate, try sharing this small, 65-page, gem. Visually exciting, with just the right innuendo. A place you will want to visit again and again.
