One area I think is important to recognize is the ACT scores attained by Clearview students. I believe the system needs to first as a norm track this information and secondly find ways to adjust curriculum to increase the mean scores. College finances are greatly affected by the student's ACT scores. School system finances have really not gotten any better since the Ohio Lottery was slated to provide funds toward education. The state simply reduced funding from other areas that previously went toward public education. School boards across the state need to work together to address future funding of schools. The state 'score card' for the school system is available. Rather than find ways to rationalize where the system is, especially when compared to other systems, we should simply address areas that require attention. The compare to the Jones's though process reduces the drive to improve.

Having lived in the district since 1985 I have had 4 children attend the school system, Clearview is near and dear to my heart. Being adjunct faculty at LCCC and LCJVS Adult Career center, I have a strong understanding of what students require to be prepared for post secondary education. I believe all public education should be considered career training. With today's finances being what they are I think the school system should concentrate on preparing students for post secondary education and specifically to increase the average ACT scores of all students so they will have access to much more scholarship funding. Clearview has a tight family feel and I have enjoyed being part of that over the past two and a half decades and I would love to share my experience and work ethic with the existing board to continually enhance our system.
