Description

This is one form of Idea #1, "The Compulsion To Repeat The Past" taken from the 8 Ideas. InnerResources 8 Ideas is "A Map, Exercises, and a Promise to Point You In the Right Direction. The 8 Ideas are focus points of the mind, and a guide for those who notice that they've "been here before and don't want to be here again"

Repetition and circularity are the essence of InnerRESOURCES Idea #1. Destructive Impulses, The Will To Power and The Pleasure Principle, are the underbelly of the repetition compulsion, often disrupting our maturation and growth. We need to become conscious of our repetitive destructive patterns so that we can create choice in our life. Then we can have rewarding relationships.

Part 1 highlights the issue of circularity and repetition in the film Groundhog Day and then in a discussion of Harriet and her son in therapy.

Part 2 is the Poems version of Idea #1, from Poems From InnerRESOURCES 8 Ideas.
