trident,

visaiyan vidu pANam enavE thAn: and the arrow shot by Vijayan (Arjunan) - these are comparable
to

vizhiyum athi pAra vithamum udai mAthar: the eyes of the whores who are endowed with heavy
bosom;

vinaiyin viLaivu Ethum aRiyAthE: not knowing anything about the miseries caused by their
treacherous acts,

kadi ulavu pAyal pagal iravu enAthu: I have been lying on their fragrant beds, day and night
indiscriminately;

kalavi thanil mUzhki vaRithAya kayavan aRivu eenan: I am a base and stupid person, having
indulged with them in carnal pleasure and become impoverished;

ivanum uyar needu kazhal iNaikaL sEra aruLvAyE: (despite my shortcomings) kindly bless me also
to attain Your hallowed feet!

iRaivan makaL vAymai aRiyAthE: She was DEvaki, the daughter of King UgrasEnan who was
unable to foresee the true happenings (meaning, the eventual destruction of all the demons sent by
Kamsan to kill KrishNan);

and to knock down their heads;

aRivu aruLum Anai mukavOnE.: You granted (Krishna) the requisite knowledge, Oh Ganapathi
with the elephant-face!
