- A REALLY GOOD DREAM -Written by AmalPlease Comment - Thanks__________________________________________________“Amy! You’re going to be late! Come on! Now!” Mom bellowed from downstairs. Fromthe tone of her voice, I can see that she was fuming; there wasn’t any commonsense in her now.I put on a jacket and a pair of old jeans before I rushed down the stairs withmy tangled hair. I couldn’t even take a glimpse at the mirror to get a hint ofwhat I looked like, unquestionably a wreck. The school week was nearly over; it was exceedingly long. It’s good that theEaster and mid-term holiday are coming up; some time away from school would benice.I dashed out of my house and jogged to school, hoping I would reach in time.School was only a ten minute walk from my house, so that was good. The open space in front of the building was virtually vacant when I got there;the bell just clanged. I inhaled in a deep breath and started treading towards themain entrance.I darted into the swarming hallway and I was the centre of attention now. Thereason instantaneously popped into my head, more like reasons: horrendous hair, horrendous outfit, abysmal body silhouette…Every single eye turned towards my way; their sights smouldering into me. Ididn’t know why; I never was the centre of attention, of anything. At least, notthis long. Some of the students burst into laughter as they pointed at me. Girls giggledand whispered as their eyes burned into me. This is ominous. There was nothing I could do but walk faster, the fastest I could do. To myrelief, the ladies washroom was merely a few strides away. I walked as fast as Icould and dashed into the washroom. I was faintly mitigated to see that it wasempty. I twisted gradually towards the mirror, preparing myself for anything.“OH-MY-GOOOODDDD!!!” My shriek escaped my mouth. There was a huge sign imprinted in bold letters on my forehead. It read, ‘KISSME’. The reminiscence of yesterday flashed back into my head – I was bored totears so I grabbed a pen and started doodling onto my hand. The word ‘kiss me’popped into my head and so, I wrote it on my palm in big bold letters. I must havefallen asleep on my palm; the inscription stamped onto my forehead – and I had tofind tissue paper right now.I quickly peeked through each toilet door, hoping there may be some tissuepaper in one of them. When I finally found a roll of tissue paper, I heard somegiggling voices shooting into the washroom and then, the door clanked.“Crap,” I muttered to myself. I quickly locked the toilet door, sat on the closedtoilet seat and lifted my feet up, waiting for them to leave. The voices seemed toget closer now and I recognized them. It was Laura and her gang. The cool gang.“Did you see her?! Kiss me? Ha! Like anyone would dream to kiss that ball of fat!”Laura sneered with her soprano voice.“What was she wearing? Her dead grandmother’s clothes?! What a loser!” Anunfamiliar high voice flowed with the mockery. The mockery of me.“I know! Come on. Let’s go before some brainless teacher catches us,” Lauracommanded as the laughter unhurriedly faded away. There was the clank from thedoor and then: silence. My vision vigorously blurred, making everything dim and unclear. It wasn’tuntil I felt the warm tears trickling down my cheeks that I knew I was crying. Mysilent crying soon turned into sobs and the silence was broken with my sniffs andwhimpers. I burst into tears, not concerned if someone might catch me. I justwished I could be sucked deep into the earth, where no one could hear me, see meor mock me. I just wish I could disappear… forever.
