But man, due to hishasty nature, rushes to acquire ephem-eral worldly luxuries, which prove to be impediments to his continuing hisonward journey. Man’s desire for in-stant gratification is the greatest rea-son for his being deprived of the bounties of the Hereafter.

chooses to follow the right path, follows it for his own good; andwhoever goes astray, goes astrayat his own peril; no bearer of  burdens shall bear the burdensof another. Nor do We punishuntil We have sent forth amessenger to forewarn them.

When We decide to destroya town, We command the affluentsection of its people, but theytransgress therein; thus the word[sentence of punishment] is justified, then We destroy thetown utterly.
17
How manygenerations have We destroyedsince Noah’s time. Your Lord iswell aware of the sins of Hisservants and observes them all.
18
We give whatever We willto whoever desires immediategains; but then We have preparedHell for him which he will enter, disgraced and rejected.
19
Anyone who desires theHereafter and makes a proper effort to achieve it, being a true believer, shall find favour withGod for his endeavours.
20

21

22
Do not set up any other deity beside God, lest you incur disgrace, and be forsaken.
23
Your Lord has commanded that youshould worship none but Him,and show kindness to your  parents. If either or both of themattain old age with you, say noword of contempt to them anddo not rebuke them, but alwaysspeak gently to them
24
and treatthem with humility andtenderness and say, ‘Lord, bemerciful to them both, as theyraised me up when I was little.’
25
Your Lord knows best what isin your hearts; if you arerighteous, He is most forgivingto those who constantly turn toHim.

but if, while waiting for your Lord’s bounty which you areexpecting, you turn them down, then at least speak to them kindly.
29
Be neither miserly, nor soopen-handed that you suffer reproach and become destitute.
30

32
Do not commitadultery,
a
for it is an indecentthing and an evil course.
33

34
Do not go near the orphans’ property, except with the best of intentions, until they reachmaturity. Keep your promises;you will be called to account for every promise which you havemade!

38
All that is evil in the sight of your Lord, and is detestable.
39
