The following are the felonies committed against Kino

.1. Kino was attacked in the night.2. Kino’s canoe had a splintered hole in it.3. Kino’s brush house was burned.

People accused of this crime:

1. The dark ones2. Juana

The theories that the CSI came out with:

1. There was one attacker who made the hole to Kino’s canoe, thenattacked Kino.After that someone else was responsible for the burning of thebrush house.2. There was more than one attacker, one attacked Kino, the otherone made the hole to the boat, and the last burned Kino’s housewhen he saw Juana come out of the house with Coyotito.

All the evidence is found in the book: The Pearl chapter Vpages 75- 88. Prove who is innocent!Questions the CSI does to the people accused:

Juana

1. Where were you the night Kino got attacked?2. Why did you go out to the gulf?3. Why did you want to throw away Kino’s pearl?4. What happened when you tried to throw away the pearl?5. Were you mad at Kino for hitting you?

(How did Juana think about Kino that usually a victim of domestic violence thinks of their man?)

6. There is one sentence in page 79 that makes me think that she isguilty.7. So, Kino told you to go back to the house?Prove it!8. Where were you when the fire started?(There is one sentence in page 82 that makes Juana completelyinnocent. Which sentence? Make up the theory according to theevidence.)

Kino’s canoe had a splintered hole broken in it and Juana waslooking for Coyotito at that same time in the house, so it’sobvious it wasn’t Juana. What do you have to say in yourdefense?
