Bourses' losses wereled by thestocks of InformationTechnologycounters, whichwerebulldozened cruelly, ended withcutof over3%. Stocks from CapitalGoods,Autoand Realty counters toofollowed thesuit. Ontheflip side, ConsumerDurables,Oil& Gas and FastMoving ConsumerGoods counters acted againstthewind. Profit-booking athigherlevels postbetterthanexpected results from TCS and HCL Technologies, pounded theITsectorbrutally.Additionally, banking stocks toogothammered outof shapeafterreportssuggested of FIIreducing theirexposureinbanking stocks during Septemberquarteronconcerns of marginstress duetoslowdownintheeconomy, rising non-performing assets andhighercostof funds. However,Axis Bank and HDFC Bank, wereexceptions as thesestocksended wellingreenonreporting betterthanexpected results. Axis Bank's shares rallied overapercentafterthebank reported a 21.2% increaseinnetprofittoRs. 1,362.31 croreforthesecondquarterended September30, 2013, whileHDFC Bank toogained overquarterof a percentageevenafterreporting slowestquarterly growthinnearly adecade. Thebank has posted a riseof27.07% inits netprofitatRs 1982.32 croreforthequarterended September30, 2013 as comparedtoRs 1559.98 croreforthesamequarterintheprevious year. ThemarketbreadthontheBSEended inred;advances and declining stocks wereina ratioof 1224: 1243, while141 scripsremained unchanged.(Provisional)and alow of 20629.80 and 20375.42 respectively. Among the30-shareSensex, 11stocks gained, while19 stocks declined.TheBSE Mid cap and Smallcap indices ended higherby 0.05% and 0.10%respectively. OntheBSE Sectoralfront, ConsumerDurables up by 1.93%, Oil& Gas up by 1.29%and FMCGup by 1.17%, weretheonly gainers, whileITdownby 3.62%, Teck downby 2.64%,CapitalGoods downby 2.39%,Autodownby 1.35% and Realty downby 1.09% werethetoplosers inthespace. (Provisional)previouscloseof 23.24 onTuesday.TheCNXNifty lost49.85 points or0.82% tosettleat6,039.20. Theindextouched highand low of 6,110.75 and 6,032.55 respectively. Outof the50 stocks ontheNifty,18 ended inthegreen, while32 ended inthered. Thursday's tradeingreenafterWashingtonlawmakers voted toreopentheUS governmentandraisethedebtceiling. ForeigninvestmentinChina gained 6.2 percentto$88.6 billioninthefirstninemonths of 2013. Thecountry attracted $8.8 billionof foreigndirectinvestmentinSeptember-- up 4.9% ontheyear.

Additionally, jitters werewitnessed across DalalStreetafterWorld Bank lowered India's forecastto4.7% from 6.1% forthecurrentfiscalyear, citing a sharp slowdowninmanufacturing and investmentas wellas negativebusiness confidence. By thecloseof thetrade, bothSensexand Nifty, tanked closeto3/4 of apercent, toconcludenearthecrucial20,400 and 6,000 psychologicallevels respectively. Meanwhile, broaderindices outperforming thelargerpeers,settled withslendergains. Fortheupcoming sessions spotindexmay continueits rangebound journey however6190-6230could bethenearterm resistancezone. Any substantialbreak outabovethis rangewithdecisivevolumes may furtherstrengthens thecurrentsentimentandwemightse6360-6390inashortspanof time.Ontheflip sideany spiralselling below 5860-5830 may attractsomebears and wemightsee5630-5650 ina shortspanof time.
