Cellulose was discovered in 1838 by theFrench chemist named Anselme Payen.
Payen decided to isolate Cellulose fromit’s plan matter in order to determine it’schemical formula.
Little is known about Cellulose’s historybut researchers believe that cellulose hasexisted and been in great use in Ancienttimes because Cellulose is mainly derivedfrom wood pulp and cotton.
