SUBJECT: Nominations -- West Florida Public Library Board

The West Florida Public Library Board establishes by-laws, rules and regulations for
the operation of the West Florida Public Library system as may be deemed necessary for its
preservation and to maintain its usefulness and efficiency; it also imposes general rules,
penalties, a!ld forfeitures to Library property, books and materials.

The Board is composed of seven members, three are appointed by the City Council,
three by Escambia County for a term of four years. CITY COUNCIL APPOINTEES MUST
BE A RESIDENT OF THE CITY.

The term of Barbara Cronemeyer and Leola Smith will expire August 11, 2009. Ms.
Cronemeyer wishes to be considered for reappointment. Ms. Smith has indicated that she does
not want to be considered for reappointment. However, due to clerical oversight, these terms
will be extended to August 27, 2009.

Attached for Council's review are Ms. Cronemeyer's attendance record and a list ofthe
current members. Also attached for Council's use are nomination forms.

Nomination forms should be submitted to the City Clerk's office by Noon, Friday,
August 7, 2009 for consideration at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, August
24,2009.
