Legal AdviceThe investigation of Sharon
“You’ve got no case, friend...” The attorney said to Jake when he askedthe lawyer to help him to claim his daughter.“I have $5000. Dollars here for a DNA test, sir.” “Please help me, mydaughter believes that her father is dead and I am very much alive.” SaidJake.“I’m sorry sir but, what she, the mother did is legal and I wouldn’t touchthat case with a ten foot pole.”Jake got a hold of an old, unmarked, police interceptor from an auctionand tinted the widows. It did the trick, no one knew him when he went toinvestigate. He had to get out of the car to be recognized and that’s theway he needed it so he could continue his investigation of Sharon and atthe same time putting on a front like he wasn’t doing anything so he couldstill see Michele. This would not last much longer and Jake knew it so hewalked on eggshells until Sharon stopped him from seeing Michele alltogether.Luckily, Jake had other chances to tell Michele that he was, indeed her real father and that her mother didn’t want it to be so. Michele was puzzledat first but Jake explained to her that she should just go along with her mother and not to go against her and everything would be okay.As he played with Michele on the living room floor, Jake would stop in themiddle of playing to see something on the T.V. It might be somethingsimilar to what was going on in their lives. Michele would look to see whathe was looking at.“That lady wants to take her daughter from her father, ha’?” said Michele.
 
“Yes, she does sweetie…” Replied Jake.“Why won’t she just let her daddy be with her?”“Well, I think she wants to have control of everything.” “She doesn’t wanthim to be able to give the girl advice.”“I think she should just tell her mother that she loves her daddy.”“I think your right!” Said Jake.“She might make her mother mad though.” Said Michele.“I think your right.” Said Jake.“I love you, Jake.”Jake’s stomach went straight to his throat when she said that. He smiledand tickled her, saying…“I love you more…”After all that he was going through in the streets with Sharon’s brother,and the beating he got from him and his goon, friends, Jake thought thatChristmas was going to make things a little better for him and Michele tobe together but this was not the case.Jake drove up to the house and took the bicycle out of the drunk androlled it up the driveway, to the front door and knocked.Their was no answer. Jake knocked again. No answer. He looked aroundand seen Sharon’s black Nissan, Maxima in the drive way. It had rain dustsettled around the tires as if the car had been sitting there for a month without being moved. When he stepped back, he realized that the houselooked abandoned. It was daytime but the curtains were closed and noactivity was seen at all.He reloaded the bicycle into the trunk and left the house. He made callafter call on the telephone, trying to get through but the number was nowchanged and no referral number was put in its place.
 
Jake had not seen Michele for weeks and had no luck getting through bytelephone ether. All communication was cut off and all he could imaginewas Michele, sad and sitting with pictures of him and her wondering if shewould ever see him again.This was what Jake was afraid of as he got to know Michele. Now Sharoncould say that he was a dead-beat and didn’t want to see her any more.What reason she would use was beyond Jake though.One night Jake was on stage as usual, singing for the band. After the set,Jake moved to the bar and ordered his usual double shot of Jin, chilled.Before Jake could get it down good, two New Orleans cops walked intoJimmy’s and placed Jake under arrest.“What the fuck is this shit about?” Asked Jake.“You are under arrest for the murder of Frank…”“You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be usedagainst you in a court of law…”The crowd went wild with applause as they put the cuffs on Jake. It justseemed as appropriate as Jake’s stardom was rising ever so fast. The badpart about this was that he would miss the appointment the next day withthe A & R man from MCA records to sign a purposed recording contract.Needless to say, Jake was in jail and the appointment would take place nomatter what Jake did. Even If Robert was able to bail Jake out before thatmorning, it still wouldn’t be in time to meet with the A & R man.Robert did manage to bail Jake out but only to get a lawyer. Robert, beingthe old fashion fool that he was, told the captain at the police departmentthat he was going to bring Jake in to see him so he could make astatement. This, before getting a lawyer who would definitely tell Jake notto do what he was doing. The Captain asked Jake if he wanted to make astatement.“Hell, Yah!!!” Said Jake.“I would like to say that I have a baby girl. Her mom claims that shebelongs to a New Orleans fire chief named Clarence Richard who diedfive years ago of cancer. She married him on his deathbed and inherited
