* This world should have a long history, though most of it is dominated by thing s out of human memory.

Mankind as a civilized element is realtivley young, many human cultures still cling to smaller scale clan or tribal based life, their chi efdoms and kingdoms smaller and more loosley organized than their civlized neigh bors. They should represnent the element of humanity that is still primordial in nature. * Right now I am thinking of four base human groups that have split into smaller nations or tribal groups, these smaller groups would share a common language, s imilar cultures, and largley similar religions as a result of shared ancestory. Inspirations for base groups; Germanic, Celtic, Mediteraninan, and perhaps Mid-E ast.(of course this would represent the known world with whispers of more exotic peoples in lands to difficult to access.) * Tecnology wise I think that Iron should be fairly common however weapons wise I think the Dark Ages would be a good representation of the highest level of tec hnology. Things like Plate armor simply do not exist. * Religion; I think the gods do exist, however they take a very passive intrest in human affairs and are proably simply beings beyond mortal comprehension. Ther e are other beings in the many realms of existence that range from Malevolent to simply uninterested. * There are other planes of existence that cross with the mortal realm in some s pots, these crossroads bend the reality of both and are the sites of many a stra nge tale. * This planet has a long history before the rise of Man, the monstorous populati on of the world being the remanants of this past. Essentially man is still on th e rise but must contend with a hostile world. * It is accepted that Magic exist, however it's scholars are few and far between and viewed with either cautious suspicion or outright hostility. It is simply the study of the manipulation of the Ether that makes up the univer se, however it is a dangerous study fraught with perils both physical and mental .
