Agricultural productivity and food security are vital concerns of government whichshould not be ignored.This is why the Committees on Agriculture and Food, Science and Technology, andthe Special Committee on Food Security, are jointly sponsoring the Farmer’s Week celebration, from October 21

, coinciding with the celebration of House oRepresentatives’ month.The agricultural sector concrete contribution to the Philippine economy and tonational development in the long term will highlight the Farmer’s Week activities. Other sector-sponsors include the Department of Agriculture and its attached agencies, farmersgroups and cooperatives and the private sector.The organizers are inviting all interested parties to the opening and ribbon cuttingceremony for the whole-day Farmer’s Exhibit today, October 21, 2013 at 1:00 pm, at the North Wing Lobby, Batasan Main Building.Likewise, a Farmer’s Market, participated in by farmer’s groups and cooperative,with booths to sell their products will be set up at the HRep canteen from October 21 to24.On the same day at 12:30 pm at the north wing lobby, the HRep Human ResourceManagement Service will take charge of a forum dubbed “Learning Session, wheresuccessful farmers who have transformed their lives and the lives of others through theadoption of new agricultural technologies will be sharing their experiences with HRepemployees who may be interested in considering farming as a second career or a viableretirement option.The farmer’s groups and cooperatives members are expected to have an audiencewith Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, Jr. on October 22
