Growing Enough Food
More than 80% of Africans depend heavily ongrowing and producing their own food. Our workhelps them to do this on a sustainable basis.
Activities include:
improving productivity usinglocal resources, irrigation, management of water,crops & livestock; providing affordable local seedsupply; and protecting the environment.
Earning a Living
Developing new sources of income is essential forgreater economic security for any family.
Activities include:
access to savings & credit,training, supporting co-ops, and the sale andmarketing of surpluses.
Working Together
Farmers’ groups, village banks, water committeesand other groups are essential if a community is toprosper. We help rural communities to managetheir own development.
Activities include:
community led planning andmonitoring, training in group organisation andleadership, and co-operative development.
Accessing Basic Services
Access to water, healthcare and education is abasic human right.
Activities include:
provision of water andsanitation, improving access to healthcare andeducation, and HIV/AIDS support and awareness.
