29-July-2009Thelastfewweekshavebeenprettymel-low…forahangglidinginstructor.I’vebeendoingalittlebitofconstructioninRodanthe,andmanagetogetintheoceantosurf(trytosurf)almosteveryday.Thesurfwasactuallyreallygoodforacoupledays.Isurfedwithsomeofthelocalin-structorswhoarereallygood.Idiscov-eredmyboardiswaytosmallandhavehadsomespectacularwipeouts.Whenthere’s

a swell you can almost always fnd a good

spottosurfandavoidcrowdsontheouter

banks. I’m getting better but it’s at

againandthewaterfeelsalittlecold-

er. I’ve also gone fshing and been to the

airportacoupletimes.IreallyclosetogettingmyH3andlotsofthenewinstruc-torsaresoloingattheairportandget-tingthereH2rating.Lessonshavebeenfun,youneverknowwhatthewindisgoingtodo,orwhatthestudentswilldo.somepeoplesrealreadytakingoff,butI’mnotreadyforsummertoend.-em
