Commercially, Amherst has very little new land to be developed, so it is imperative we support our existing businesses.Quite simply, we must be business friendly. Business friendly includes help with starting a business, dealing with permits, getting utilities, taxes, road or rail access, police, fire, labor pool and housing.
:My concern for the Third Ward is the increasing number of unlicensed, uninspected rental properties.I worked last year to require inspection and maintenance codes for rental properties. I am hoping councilwill reconsider my request and adopt these ordnances, sooner, not later.
1. Council gave our tax department permission to verify claimed income. This may very well increase cash flow.It should be very interesting to learn the results next May. 2. Don’t let the state take any more of our money. This proposed “Centralized Tax Collection” is a gimmick to move local money to the state.3. Maintain the revenue we have by keeping Amherst a nice place to live and do business.Whether for past accomplishments or future goals, why should voters elect you?I have a very visible record of getting stuff done with the help of other people. I enjoy a great relationshipwith our schools and City’s administration and employees. This relationship helps me to help others whenthey have questions, concerns or need help.
