Welcome to Get Married. I’m David Tutera. Today I’ll take you to the bright lights of New York for Bridal Fashion Week.> It’s a time when the biggest and brightestwedding gown designerstake over the citythat never sleeps, and send their hottest new styles down the runway. If you’re looking fora dream gown, you’re in the right place. Get ready, it’s Get Married!> New York is the fashion capital of the world, and it’s also where the top designers inbridal reveal their latest creations duringbridal fashionweek.> With hundreds of designers showing thousands of gowns its an amazing time to findthe next best thing in bridal styling. Get Married’s editorial director Crys Stewart, joinedme in New York to take a look at the gowns coming down the runway, that you’ll bewearing down the aisle.>> First of all, I saw pockets, lots and lots of pockets. I saw pockets on everything fromelegant gowns to really cute dresses. what do you do with those pockets? Well put yourshaking hands in them, or maybe the groom’s wedding ring, or for those brides who can’tlet go, maybe their cell phone.>> I myself love pockets. And brides, by the way, really get it. that little detail, I showthem line my last collection, and it is still something that I’m actually very excited about.>> I’m also seeing that a lot of wedding guests are going to be looking at bare backs. There were so many gowns that just didn’t have any back at all. The most amazing dresseswere from Pnina tornai’s new collection. she had a lot of very sexy dresses, that dipped solow, it was unbelievable, but the most surprising gown of all was one from anne barge  who usually has very very traditional formal looks. She sent down the runway a silk  jersey slinky number that had absolutely no back whatsoever. it was so incrediblyamazing. Drop dead gorgeous.>> that is a really good look for a really modern, sophisticated, city wedding, where you just want a really fabulous no back, but just bartow neckline with the front.>> but as much as I was seeing bare backs, I was also seeing a lot of gowns that weredoing a lot of covering up. the best was but Monique
l'huillier
. She had a beautiful empiresheath topped by a jacket that was covered in tulle pearls and it had a lovely blousonsleeves. it was absolutely the most elegant thing.>> it’s always nice to give an option to like wear that for the ceremony and then take it off for the reception and it just makes it feel fresher, and there’s something nice about beingcovered for the ceremony and then adding more drama for the reception.>> another great trend, for any bride who has concerns with their figure is opticalillusion. I saw it best at the Serena collection. There’s one gown that has side panels thatare black, not white. what this does is totally slim you down for anyone who has aproblem with hips or just wants to be a little slimmer, this gown is totally chic and doeswonders for your figure.> another great trend that I was seeing for both brides andbridesmaidswas belts, and this

is a trend that you could actually do yourself if you wanted to add a belt to your gown. thebottom line is it’s tucking in your waist and looking really good, very modern, very fresh, and very easy to do.> another hot trend is cotton and who would’ve thought that cotton would look so, well, bridal! it was everywhere! cotton georgettes, silk cotton blends, cotton lace. you name it.people are using cotton and it looked absolutely great. It’s the perfect statement to makewhen you wan to look young and fresh and elegant, and yet you also want to keepcomfortable and cool. it’s perfect for a summer wedding. > short, shortest micro mini. I was seeing so many short wedding dresses. and these are perfect for a beach or city hall wedding, but also they were great for the bride that justwant to show off her really great legs.>> I’m really into short dresses right now and I’m finding that my brides are as well.some are wearing them through the whole night, the ceremony and there after, some areactually wearing a gown for the ceremony and then changing into a shorter dress for thereception. it’s really fun and young.>> You can find more of the latest bridal styles and see photos and videos from New York
week on the fashion pages on getmarried.com>When models sashay their way down the catwalk they make it all their own. Well, youcan make your walk down the
aisle,
all your own with a personalized runner. While wewere in new York, we caught up with Julie Goldman, whose unique aisle runners havegraced the ceremonies of many celebrity weddings including that of The Bachelorette,Trista Rehn.>>the original runner company is the first company to make non slip fabric aisle runners. So what that means is instead of having one of those gauzy tissue paper runners runningdown your aisle, or even plastic, we make a fabric runner with a no slip foam backing thatrequires no taping to stay nice and flat and smooth. We do them in 20 colors and 4 printsand we also custom hand paint them with your motif or your logo or anything you needfor your wedding.> for people who are not having a lot of d
é
cor at the church or the ceremony site, it allowsthem to customize their aisle and make it very personal. runners are sort of a funny thing, you can do anything you want on them. So it can really run the gamut from fairy talewedding, let’s just say, Which is wonderful and romantic, to the extreme where we’redoing black runners with crazy butterfly motifs all over them, and that’s really fun and itcan represent each bride so dramatically differently.> for the bride who maybe doesn’t have a huge budget for their aisle runner but wantssomething a little more custom that a solid color runner we do these wonderful printedrunners that have rose petal patterns or leaf patterns covering them. and Those come inwhite, and in red, and in pink. but we’re also doing these fabulous 3 dimensional runners, and what those are is it’s covered in rose petals. And that’s really for the bride who wants

to walk down a bed of roses on her wedding day but cant afford $10,000 in rose petals todo it. and It’s a great achievable look at an affordable price.> because the runners are such a strong quality the entire bridal party can walk on it. andIt’s perfectly safe whereas in the past you only wanted the bride to walk on the paperrunner. if you’re doing a custom runner we do recommend 12 weeks of ordering time. if you order less than that you may incur rush fees. by booking early like you do with yourwedding dress and your florals and everything else and you can ensure that you getexactly what you want in a timely manner.> You can find more ways to personalize your wedding ceremony, and get great advicefromwedding professionals, on theplanning tips pages of getmarried.com > Coming up, on Get Married.> We found a place in New York where top designers donate their gowns and give back tothose in need.> And, when we come back, Get Married’s Crys Stewart looks at the top gowns fromNew York’s Bridal FashionWeek. > Next, on Get Married.>> Number ten- jannelle Berte’s chic, simple, v-neck brocade gown. so refreshing. no googah’s, no details, it’s just very flattering to any figure.> Number nine- the white lace sheath with contrast linen lining by lela rose, for the bridewhose not into bridal, this is the perfect dress.> Number 8- Melissa sweet’s t-length silk organza dress with floral appliqu
