Make & Do Activity Kit
Terrariums are a little green world o their own and area lovely introduction to gardening. We explore the water cycle, the concept o photosynthesis and the importantrole o plants in our environment.
Terrariums can be made using jars,bowls, old fsh tanks or bottles. Chooseindoor plants that like a moist environment.
Put a layer o gravel or pebbles into the bottom o your container.
Place soil on top o thepebbles. Place plants nextto the container to see howmuch soil is needed whileleaving room to ft your plants in.
Using a spoon or trowelmake holes and plant your plants.
Water your plants in welland allow them to sit withthe lids open while theysettle into the soil. This willalso allow some o the water to evaporate.
Plants that do well interrariums will generallyneed light but not directsunlight. A shaded windowsill is a good spot.
Water your terrariumwhen needed. Read theinormation on the nextpage or instructions onwhen to do this and how tolook ater your new garden.
