Jimmy Buffett Concert Alpine Valley, Wisconsin August 24th, 2013 Another beautiful night @ Alpine Valley for

the show. When I wrote the review for the show last year, I mentioned that the atmosphere was calm and under control. This year, things were back to its usual chaos. Jackson Browne opened the show and was outstanding. I could see Jimmy on the side of the stage really enjoying Jacksons performance. Jimmy came out and sang back up on Take it Easy. ______________________________________________________________________ The audio quality from my seat which was almost center stage and about 100 feet back sounded a bit distorted. I was told that it sounded great at the back seats, up the hill and in the parking lot. It also sounded great on Sirius. If you have a copy of the Buffett Alpine concert, play it while reading this review. You will notice one or more stars (*) next to many of the songs played that night. Play the Jimmy Loves Alpine drinking game while listening to the show. Take a shot of your favorite liquor when Jimmy mentions Alpine, Milwaukee, Madison, Sheboygan, Wisconsin or anything related to cheese. There are 33 shots in all so make sure it is a large and full bottle.

Conch Shell / Opening Medley: 1! Far Side Of The World, Calaloo, Lage Nom Ai, Kinja (St. Somewhere version) Medley sounded ok. Would have preferred to hear the full versions of those songs. 2 ! Landfall****** ! Great way to start the concert ! Jimmy mentions wanting to play in Green Bay @ Lambeau Field I think he was asked to play there a few years back in February. He declined due the weather at that time of the year. 3 ! ! ! ! Brown Eyed Girl *** As usual, this Alpine Valley favorite rocked the crowd. This song always gets as big a pop as Margaritaville. Peter did the traditional waving of the towel to cool off Eric during his solo.

4! Boat Drinks * Peter Mayer's guitar roadie left papers at the feet of the reeferettes feet after giving Pete a new guitar. Jimmy has not played this song at Alpine since 2002. 5 ! ! Weather with You * Sounded great. One of my favorite songs from the album.

6 ! Knees of My Heart * ! Great song. Haven't heard this one live since the last time he played it at Alpine in 2006. ! A large ball ew on the stage and security retrieved it and promptly deated it. ! Jimmy mentions that there is some good smelling Glaucoma medicine coming from the crowd. 7 ! ! ! 8 ! ! ! Tides Very good song. Doyle's Steel guitar sounded great. Its Five OClock Somewhere Mac talks about is new career as an Alan Jackson impersonator. Time to remove this one from the lineup. Overplayed.

9 ! Son of a Son of a Sailor * ! Jimmy mentions Palmer Johnson boats. ! http://www.palmerjohnson.com/ Plenty of pictures on the big screen of Jimmy on the water.

Come Monday **** Jimmy talked about his rst performance in Milwaukee which was at Brewfest. http://www.milwaukeebrewfest.com/welcome.html Doyle was waving to someone in the crowd during this song.

11 ! Too Drunk To Karaoke (Too drunk to write a good song) ! Did not like this one at all. ! The only thing good about this song played tonight is that Mac sang Toby's part instead of Toby. 12 ! Cheeseburger in Paradise ** ! Good performance on this song. Could have done without the all cheese head references. Acoustic Set Robert G plays Boat Drinks on the pans while the set changed to the porch line up. Jimmy request some wine and as his roadie went to give him the cup of wine and he accidentally spilled a little on Mac. I noticed that Tina had to go get her guitar. Why doesnt Tina have a guitar roadie? Jimmy talked about Andy Grifth and the wild girls form Mount Pilot http://mayberry.wikia.com/wiki/Mt._Pilot_(real_life_location) 13 ! The City ! The performance was outstanding. Mac and the reeferettes sounded great on this one. 14 ! ! ! Volcano *** Mike plays the Melodica on this song. Again, Mac and the reeferettes sounded great on this one.

15 ! Southern Cross Although this one did sound great as an acoustic, I much prefer entire band performance this one. 16 ! ! 17 ! 18 ! Somethin Bout a Boat Sounded good. Would have much preferred he played Einstein Was a Surfer. Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes ** Ok performance. Nothing stood out. A Pirate Looks At Forty

20 ! Back Where I Come From ! Another great Mac song. Mac sounded and the rest of band sounded great on this one. 21 ! All Night Long Peter Mayer does the best vocals on this song. Jimmy should just let him sing the entire song instead of just a small part in the beginning. 22 ! Fins ** ! Peter did an excellent (Ventures style) guitar slide at the beginning of the song. ! Peter's guitar work on this song was just outstanding. ! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ventures First Encore 23 ! Knee Deep ** ! John Lovell using Robert G's percussion instruments during this song. John did an excellent job. ! At one point Robert G stepped back and bowed to Johnny. Band Intros 24 ! ! ! ! Margaritaville ** Sounded good. Could have left out the part where talked about the incident in Australia. Ended the song with the last verse of Boat Drinks

Second Encore 25 ! Soulfully * ! World premiere of this song. Jimmy mentions that Will Kimbrough wrote this one and hopes he can now afford to buy some furniture. (Inside joke?) 26 ! ! ! Trying To Reason with Hurricane Season ** Excellent song to close out the concert with. Another great song from his best album (A1A)
