Installation of Ubuntu.
To install Ubuntu, you need to get the Ubuntu 7.10 from Ubuntu site at:http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download.From that site you could order a CD or download it. Ubuntu is free of download and to install.If you order it, the install procedure will come with the installation CD. If you download it you we need to choosethe desktop Edition, Ubuntu 7.10 - Supported to 2009.From that web site, select a location near you, like North America, Canada University of Waterloo computer Science Club (North America). After that click on “START DOWNLOAD”.Your web browser will ask you to save it into your disk. Choose a location on your hard disk and click OK. Thatwill take around 2 hours to download depending of you internet speed.The result of the download is giving you an ISO image. You will need a software to burn a CD or a DVD. Theimage is 695.8 Mb. On you software to burn CD or DVD, you will need to burn an image (NOT A FILE). Whenthe image is burn on the CD/DVD, you should be able the reboot the target machine to install Ubuntu.Start/restart your computer and insert the Live-CD - be sure that your bios is configured to boot from your CD/DVD drive first. If there are no special reasons to do something else, select "Start or install Ubuntu" in thefirst window to boot the Live-CD.
