Curriculum Description
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES FOR VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS - This classexplores theory and practical issues in professional and career development. In addition toexamining their own skills, values and goals, students have the opportunity to examinethe historical, social and economic forces that impact the labor market and the process of career decision-making. Topics covered include: history of labor market changes, culturalunderstandings of work, work and identity, inequity and work, strategies for self-assessment, career decision-making, ethics, the value of personal reflection, and thefuture of work, employer research, cover letter writing, resume writing and interviewing .
