The Worcester DA' Office has been investigating Wonderland's ca$h caper for 16-months dating back to June '12.

The DAO has recently announced how a Worcester Grand Jury has indicted ex-collector Marcia Langelier.

Only Langelier. This despite more than $500k remains unaccounted for and outstanding collections totaling around $1-million dollars dating back over decades has been recovered.

The end of this story or is this just the beginning?

Wonderland’s criminal caper has without a doubt taken an interesting twist. LateFriday afternoon, October 25, 2013, the
Worcester Telegram & Gazette
reported former taxcollector Marcia Langelier had been indicted on three felonious theft charges forallegedly stealing $300k of town money over a nearly seven year period from 2005 –2011.Langelier’s indictment is tied to this Hole’s six month forensic audit initiated by Powers& Sullivan last year at the direction of the Department of Revenue. It followed analleged 16-month investigation by DA Joseph Early’s State Police Detective Unit.Oddly enough One will find no related press release on Early’s web site concerning this“exhaustive” investigation. The last announcement was posted on September 23, 2013,more than a month ago, yet Big Joe’s Director of Communication, Timothy Connolly, apparently had time to contact the T&G’s James Russell…

The timing of this is quite
 peculiar
given the recent course of events:

In
 June
Chief Deputy Sheriff David H. Tuttle told the T&G how Early said theprobe would be wrapping up in days – but nothing would transpire for another
 four months

Wonderland’s selectmen met with the Barre EMS todiscuss job descriptions & structure for this nonprofit and how to make it amunicipal entity. The meeting would be taped by the local public access entityand this spectacle began airing two days later -http://barrenews.wordpress.com/2013/10/25/attorney-general-gov-patrick-trying-to-bury-barre-ems-boondoggle/;Then there’s this fact which to date has never been reported – until now. this community journalist made an unannounced visit to 732 WheelwrightRoad in Wonderland in an attempt to speak with Langelier.
