Both the Worcester District Attorney's Office and Town of Barre have refused to release any records related to Wonderland's forensic audit.

Both have cited the Investigatory exemption of the Public Records Law which allows investigative officials to withhold materials that could compromise investigative efforts if disclosed.

The investigation is over. Now the Public has a right to know what both have been hiding...

Mr. Joseph Early:Given recent developments concerning the indictment of Barre’s ex-collector Marcia Langelier Iam re-submitting my records request from August 12, 2013 (see below).Your investigation has been completed and as a result the legal justification for withholding therequested documents no longer exists.So again I am asking the DAO to forward copies of the following public records:

The Town of Barre’s initial contract (
Scope of Services
) with Powers & Sullivan tolaunch a forensic audit;2.
 
The related Summary of Findings submitted by Powers & Sullivan last year to theTown of Barre;
I appreciate your anticipated and timely cooperation in this matter.
 
 Dear Board of Selectmen:The following is a request pursuant to the Commonwealth’s Public Records Law.On Thursday October 24, 2013 a Worcester grand jury returned a three count indictment againstex-collector Marcia Langelier. This action officially concludes the DAO’s 16-monthinvestigation into your community’s financial matters arising from a forensic audit in 2012.In the past your office has denied certain requests while citing the InvestigatoryExemption. The legal reason for this exemption no longer applies and as such I am asking youto provide me a copy of the following public records:I.
