Excerpted From An LPPress ReleaseDr. Richard S. Kerr,M.D., a West VirginiaLibertarian Party memberand a retired doctor with36 years experience, asked President Barack Obama Thursday toapologize for commentsmade in press conferenceaccusing doctors of conspiring to makechildren sicker for profits. In his press conference,Obama claimed, “…youcome in and you've got abad sore throat, or yourchild has a bad sore throator has repeated sorethroats, the doctor maylook at the reimbursementsystem and say tohimself, you know what, Imake a lot more money if I take this kid's tonsilsout.”“For President Obama’sinformation, pediatriciansdo not performtonsillectomies. If hedoesn’t know that, thenhe has no businesscentrally planning yourfamily’s health care,” saidDr. Kerr.

Excerpted From AnACLU Press ReleaseIn a letter to keylawmakers, the AmericanCivil Liberties Uniontoday joined 17 other civilliberties groups to opposethe Pass ID Act, a bill thatintends but failed to fixthe flawed Real ID Act of 2005 designed to turn thestate driver’s license intoa national identity card. The coalition letter wassent in preparation for aJuly 15 hearing on thePass ID Act and includesprinciples that shouldguide Congress inrepealing, not fixing, theReal ID Act of 2005 sothat effective driver’slicense policy can bedeveloped. While Pass IDeliminates many of themore costly Real IDrequirements for thestates, it leaves intact thesame fundamentalstructure created by RealID.“We are united inopposing the Pass ID Actbecause we don’t want‘National ID light,’” saidChris Calabrese.

Positive Political Campaigning
Conversing With JakeBy Jake Porter
“Y
esterday, I won the lottery. Now, I have to paytaxes on mywinnings. Oprahgave me a brandnew car. Damnher! Now I have tobuy expensive carinsurance.” We have all heard this sortof negative talk, maybe to a less extremelevel, by people at work, family, andfriends. Does talking negative win manyfriends and make others want to bearound you or vote for you as a politicalcandidate? With the exception of a fewrare exceptions of people that somehowmanage to thrive on negative emotionslike ticks on dogs the answer is aresounding no.As we learned in the last Presidentialelection people want to have hope forsomething that will benefit them. It isno different than when selling a productat a store. Just attacking a competitor’sproduct does nothing to convincesomeone to purchase your product.Sure, the consumer might not buy fromthe competition, but they will also not belikely to buy from you.As Libertarians, we have the answersthat will benefit America. Instead of justcomplaining how the Democrats andRepublicans have failed, we must showhow ourideas willactually beof benefit toAmericans. To clarify, the averageAmerican isalready ableto clearlyvisualizehow theDemocratsandRepublicans have failed us though largebudget deficits, attacks on civil liberties, high taxes, and unnecessary smallbusiness regulations. Most Americans nolonger need to be convinced theDemocrats and Republicans don’t havethe solutions necessary to improve thecountry. What they want is a solutionfrom us that will help them. After stopping the negative political talk, the next step is to stop selling issues andstart selling benefits to the voters. Insales, a good salesperson will not sellproduct features. The reason is that mostbuyers do not care about productfeatures. Instead, they care about howthe feature benefits them. For example, you probably wouldn’t buy a car becauseit had an air conditioner. You wouldbuy a car because their air conditionermeant you would have a morecomfortable ride to and from work. Youwouldn’t buy a car because it receivedbetter gas millage. You would buy thecar because better gas millage saves youmoney that you can save or spend on

Discuss Ways To Build The Libertarian Party
www.goldamericagroup.com other things. Similarly, few are going tovote for Libertarians because we favor afree market approach to retirement. Onthe other hand, they might be convincedto vote for a Libertarian who allowedthem to keep more of their own moneyand make the personal decision of wherethey wanted to invest their own moneyfor their own retirement. See, personalresponsibility doesn’t sound quite asscary as the horrific sci-fi image peoplecreate in their mind when you tell themabout the invisible hand of the freemarket. To sum up, the message of this article issimple. The American people alreadyknow how out of touch the Democratsand Republicans are with the country soyou can quit talking dirty to the votersand start explaining how your plans willactually benefit them.(

Libertarian Party of Tennessee-Plan For Growth
By Charles Wilhoit
T
he primaryobjective of anypolitical party isto build a voterbase sufficientto elect theparty candidatesto public office, the most important of which arecandidates for the U. S. Congress andthe Tennessee legislature.A basic LPTN county organization willrequire a minimum of three LibertarianParty members for each voting precinctin each county. The County Chair, then,is the kingpin in party growth. The Chairmakes things happen!
