Whether, contrary to the views of both the United Statesand the Copyright Office, § 512(h) of the Digital MillenniumCopyright Act precludes copyright holders from obtainingthe identity of a copyright infringer through issuance of asubpoena to the infringer’s Internet service provider, simply because the infringing material is stored on the infringer’scomputer rather than on the service provider’s server.
